I never really got into collecting the novels...

i have 84 or 86 . . and some of those are there two times too i think . .
but i did not buy them again, when they came out baiscally only with new cover art <.<
Posted by: bofh Nov 27 2008, 11:58 PM
I have all the novels and I'm not 100% sure, but I think I have all the books. I have all four Street Sam printings and one each of the BBB's. I still haven't found anyone to confirm whether Man & Machine 10663 or New Seattle 25009 actually exist in print. I also have most of 4th Ed in PDF. Not the core book but the rest. I think mainly because I bring my laptop to the games along with the core book. So the other books are available on the laptop so I don't have to carry them but I'm generally having to open the book a few times a game so it's more necessary in print.

Are there additional ones in German that aren't in English or are they the same ones translated? I do have all the English ones as far as I know.

four printings of SSC? I thought there were only two... I can't confirm on man and machine or new seattle either, mine are 25001 and 10657. But my M&M (25001) says "first printing o fanpro LLC.", so probably at least for that book, there is no other five-digit version.

when roc stopped publishing english SR-novels in 2001 (?), fanpro started publishing german only novels. they did that til spring of 2008 along with the translation of the six new US-SR novels. there are 35 german only novels plus an anthology.

There are the two printings; one for 1st Edition and a second darker one without the stylized 'S'. But there are two printings for each of those as well. I had the 1st Edition one and found a copy of the 2nd edition but it said "4th printing" so I did a little hunting and found the other two printings. Here are the cover listings: http://www.shadowrun.us/php/inventory.php

Ah, didn't even think of that. The problem is that I've seen the 10663 book cover in a bunch of places including ebay. They're always selling 25001 but they use 10663's cover. That's where the confusion comes from. I know there's a 25009 PDF and a local store said they sold their last copy of 25009 in 2003 so I'm pretty sure that one is in print. I just can't find it

Cool, thanks. I'll have to see if I can find copies of the German books somewhere. I studied German in High School and was stationed in Erlangen when I was in The Army. Maybe it'll be somewhat familiar and I can pick up some of the language again.

It was a fold-over cover with two loose books inside. I'll scan them today and post a link here.

It came in a book shape and like UB, it has a loose cover with all the maps inside it. Heck, I still have the loose sheets from the GM Screens

I'll scan that setup as well.

I didn't know that the old FASA books would list the print run. maybe because I thought that of the very old stuff there were no reprints.

I woudln't count on that, at amazon and other places they still show some alternative covers (eg new seattle, target: smuggler havens, sota: 2064) which never got to be printed.

I've seen them on amazon.com but at horrible prices... probaly cheaper to buy them at amazon.de and pay the additional p&p... if you get along with the german interface

Cool carpet.

Me? That's a bedsheet. I made a 5'x6' table and had this old sheet from back when I was single. Since my wife and I have a California King sized air bed (one of the sleep number beds), this queen sized sheet doesn't fit. When I put the table up for the gaming group about a month ago, I wanted to cover it with something and there you go

Just picked up 17 of the German books and an extra copy of the Denver Boxed Set (no box) to go with my boxed set (got the UCAS and CAS border passes to go with my Sioux and PCC passes). Infomorph was kind enough to drop in a couple of convention cards as well. I'll be doing some scanning and reading this weekend

he he, yeah I couldn't resist his offers neither
but I "just" bought a SR3 limited BBB
additionaly I could get hold of an incomplete copy of UB
Posted by: BookWyrm Dec 11 2008, 04:30 PM
I still have all my books from 1st edition through 4th, all the novels, my run of Shadowland (I even have a contribution in one issue
), the black 'Ka*Ge' bandanna from that mag, a couple of magazines with a SR article, and the 'horned-skull' pin from then. No art-books. No TCG cards through & I'm not looking for those. The only thing I really don't have & could want are the hard-to-find wallet cards from the Denver boxed set.

nice, especially the KaGe-Stuff

I tought the skull-pin was a promo for the TGC, wasn't it?
I'm still mad, that a couple of month ago I was so close to getting one of the ultra-rare doc wagon-medpacks at ebay but lost the auction in the last second

Guess I'll have to post up collection shots.. warning, large photos ahead...
http://www.broomstickfighters.com/SR/Novels.JPG not complete, and I missed out on the Jordan Wiessman one just a few weeks ago
http://www.broomstickfighters.com/SR/1stn2nded.JPG Arcology shutdown seems to have made its way down there as well
http://www.broomstickfighters.com/SR/3rded.JPG Includes my new unnumbered copy of the BBB but was missing Loose Alliances and Shadows of Europe which were up in the office for reference
http://www.broomstickfighters.com/SR/4thed.JPG plus some figures for a group. Missing Unwired as I'm still waiting for my copy.
Somewhere in the same room is a box of Ka'ge, Shaowlands and all of http://www.pen-paper.net/rpgdb.php?op=showarticleline&gamelineid=91 minus the Adventures Unlimited. There are a few other peices of stuff roaming around somewhere, or maybe still packed away.. have to find it all and lay it out for extra photos.

Sorry, I meant my run of Ka*Ge, of which I have an nice little contibution printed ("Toothbud Transplants"). I don't remember the pin being a promo, I remember ordering & paying for it. As far as the TCG was concerned, I passed on it.
A "Doc-Wagon Medpack"? Never heard of it. Do tell!

IIRC it was a gecon-gimmick, a small medpack (with gaze, patches and stuff) with docwagon-card and logo... 10 to 15 years ago
was sold on ebay for about 25€

Spielleiterschirm
Shadowrun 3.01D
First Run
Schattenzauber
Rigger 3.01D
Mensch und Maschine
Matrix
Unterwelt-Quellenbuch
Deutschland in Den Schatten II
Die 6. Welt
Spielleiterschirm
On the Run
Strassenmagie
SOX
I've been checking out Die 6. Welt mainly

it has an excellent overview over the metaplot in it... best I know for Shadowrun
Posted by: bofh Dec 23 2008, 04:18 PM
Well, at the moment I'm just looking at the pictures. My plan is to chase down a German dictionary _and_ a German-English book. I figure I'll look up words in the dictionary and then look up the dictionary entry in the G-E book. Eventually I'll know word meanings and pronunciations and won't have to look them up.

is it sprawl maps or sprawl sites or something totally different..?
i know that there was an italian version of DMZ, so maybe it's sprawl maps... but I don't know for sure.

I think it's the Italian Sprawl Sites. Nello Sprawl translates to "In The Sprawl".

Posted by: wusselpompf Dec 28 2008, 11:24 PM
the seller has send me an answer to my question and told me that it is the italian version of sprawl maps from 1998.
I'm kinda happy, it always bugged me that sprawl maps is so expensive on ebay and now I got an even more rare version of it for 8€
Posted by: Freejack Dec 29 2008, 01:34 AM

Not quite true, I got the Hungarian stuff on ebay a year ago. I've seen the Japanese language books come across on Amazon from time to time. Gotta dig deep and get lucky though.

I got the japanese core book from my favorite "source" for weird SR-stuff and I know that he has the hungarian 3rd-core book too - hope to visit him at the end of january again
but, I've *never* seen any other japanese or hungarian stuff. I guess you can call yourself really lucky. how about some cover scans?
what really sucks is, that at amazon japan they sell the 4th ed. SR-Manga from arclight (pretty cheap) but you can't order there with an account from another amazon-site.

From what I know this was done at several conventions in the US. One of them was ORCCON, El Infieno's er Los Angeles biggest con. I know because all the rest of my group got them in the dealers area while I was asleep after running games all night. Little fraggers did not think to wake me up or to get one for me.
I would be ECSTATIC to pay $50 or so for a gold level DocWagon card from that era.
you can keep the bandaids.

Would it be showing off if I had an old SR promo pin/badge from FASA @ Gen*Con? You know that one made from green ciruit board with a sliver ShadowRun logo on it? Or that I sold it on eBay for $30? Too bad it was the only one I found cleaning my old gaming chest. I know I had gotten a dozen from the Shadowrun release at GenCon that year.

Thanks for the pictures and sharing guys.

You really made me wish I had taken better care of my stuff when I was younger.

If you have a picture of it, I'd like to see it.

This is weird. We recently moved to a new city (not far from the old one though). I happened to be wandering around and found a Hobbytown. Hobbytown has about 8' of game books (four shelves with about 2' of RPG books each) in addition to a _lot_ of Warhammer gear plus rocket gear, RC stuff, trains, and scientific toys. It's a pretty cool place and the one down south is one of the reasons I got back into gaming a couple of years back (I picked up Paranoia XP
).
Anyway, I stopped in to the Hobbytown and while browsing the books, I found a Ral Partha Shadowrun Troll (10-100) tucked in the back of the other games. It was marked 50% off and the scan label was so faded, they had a hard time reading it and finally decided it wasn't in the new computer system. So I got it for $10

im not really into collecting the minis but I recently discovered a store, where they sell all the SR-minis (ral partha and even grendadier ones) for approx. 3-4€ a piece. at that price i couldn't resist
