Dumpshock Forums _ General Gaming _ A deep thought on Walker: Texas Ranger

Posted by: Wounded Ronin Feb 19 2009, 03:45 AM

These days I'm finding that TV programming is mostly crap, especially since I like to be in bed asleep around 9:30 PM. Often times the only show worth watching at 7 or 8 PM is Walker: Texas Ranger.

So, everyone knows that Chuck Norris always throws a roundhouse to the face of the villian in that show. But in terms of repetitious moves, did anyone notice that Nia Peeples is always busting out frankensteiner-type throws?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankensteiner#Frankensteiner

It's funny because that's really traditionally a pro wrestling move rather than a "martial arts" move.

I'm not sure whether it would be funny or disastrous if someone wrote a physad power called "Nia Peeples Frankensteiner Throw".

Disastrous, on multiple levels of seriousness. So maybe good for a looney game.

Someone is named Nia Peeples?

Does this person realise how close to "Nipples" that sounds?

I'm certain it's intentional:

Improbable Professional Wrestling Throws (1PP)
The Improbable Professional Wrestling Throws Power allows an adept to perform techniques that would otherwise be impossible without the cooperative assistance of the target. IPWT comes in two flavors. Nia Peeples Frankensteiner allows the adept to perform Quickness-based "high risk" throws the damage code of which is (Quickness + Target's Body)M Stun. Kevin Nash Power Bomb allows the adept to perform Strength-based throws with a damage code of (Strength + Target's Body)M Stun.
In spite of their names, both variations of the power can be used for multiple types of throw so long as they generally fall into the appropriate category.

heh, had to look the move up on youtube, as i had a hard time visualizing it from text...

looks like something that shows up ever so often when playing fighting games on consoles, performed by the leggy speedster female, preferably with some bouncy attributes...

btw, i dont see the need for a special power, as i kinda envision adepts pulling stuff like that all the time. or maybe even the odd samurai...

Why did you have to give me a link that showed her age. She is much hotter on Walker Texas Ranger when I can visualize her as my age or a bit younger.
