I'd like to use this for a window/wall, transparent until you turn the tele on, a bit like Total Recall.

How about the link to the same-sex penguin adoption story. Germans are so avant garde.

That requires more energy. It's more expensive in both setup and ongoing, and requires different mountings to a window (so you have to rebuild your house to accomodate that).

In short, it's impractical.
