Dumpshock Forums _ General Gaming _ DriveThruRPG Haiti Charity Drive

Posted by: Naysayer Jan 21 2010, 09:30 AM

You may have already heard of this, but I just read about it on the FTB blog and I was floored, and I thought it wouldn't hurt to repeat it.
DriveThruRPG has launched a charity drive for the earthquake victims in Haiti. That in and on itself is good.
BUT, as a bit of added incentive, they cut some deals with a few publishers, and now, donating $20 (that's twenty bucks) gives you access to over $1400 (that's exactly the huge-ass number of dollars it looks like!) worth of RPG goodness. I didn't have the time to even begin sifting through all the stuff, but there's some big names in there.
So, if giving to a good cause AND instant gratification are your thing, hit it like it's going out of style.
And do it now!

Interesting that this is posted on a fan forum for a game from Catalyst Game Labs even though CGL isn't participating.

And it isn't "a few" publishers.

It's 93 publishers offering over 100 products.

For a $20 contribution to Haiti.

Come on. How do you not jump on that dogpile of good will?

For shame, Catalyst.

For shame.

Yep, ordered my pack too. I also picked up Paranoia IntSec and a couple of modules.

Now I can't speak for CGL, but the thread over on rpg.net indicated there was a short window where publishers could offer up gear. The smaller shops (and most if not all I believe were smaller shops) could move quickly where a larger one like WoTC or CGL couldn't move as fast.

Found this here, as I was getting ready to post about it.

Can't go too far wrong for $20 - and it's even better because it's for a good cause !!

Exactly. This bundle was up and available before some people -- myself included -- even knew it was happening.

Adam someone might want to mention that on a few sites-I've seen this come up in a few places.
