I bought Burnout Paradise on Impulse (which, while it lacks some of Steam's polish, is still a decent app in its own right) earlier today. I have learned that it really needs a gamepad to be enjoyed to the fullest. There simply is no substitute for analog steering (and preferably analog braking and acceleration as well).
So, who makes a good gamepad for a PC?
I bought one (a "Dilong") for 2 euros in Hong Kong. I could have gotten two for 3 euros, but I didn't want to push my luck that far.
It looks and behaves exactly like a Dual Shock, complete with rumbling. It works fine with Windows' default USB Gamepad drivers and still works fine three years after purchase (I don't use it very often though).
If you like the X-box 360 controller, Microsoft sells a USB wireless adapter so you can use that on your PC.
