While not much of an anime fan, Robotech was one of the (if not THE) favorite cartoons of my childhood. It was a stepping stone into this hobby, which led to more diverse gaming, and eventually space opera and a love of sci-fi reading in general.
RIP Carl, thanks for the nudge in what seems to be the right direction.
