Dumpshock Forums _ General Gaming _ Ultra Marines the movie.

Posted by: Synner667 Nov 26 2010, 01:05 AM

There appears to be a Warhammer 40,000 movie.

It looks to be computer animated, and voiced by some 'proper' actors [John Hurt, Sean Pertwee].

Finally,, we get to see the 40K universe in action !!

Check it out here, http://www.ultramarinesthemovie.com/

"They shall know no fear."

Wow, I remember hearing about this a while ago, but I didn't realize it was out. Cool.

Edit: Oh, out in a few days. $40 for the special edition. Having trouble finding a regular edition for sale anywhere.

Posted by: Zyerne Nov 26 2010, 04:05 AM

Not sure there is one. The Special Edition is available for "a limited time only" but there's no mention of a regular edition coming afterwards.

Yep, I have seen some trailer a few months ago, I think.

Looks like Dawn of War the movie. wink.gif

why was he about to rape the little girl?

Posted by: Yerameyahu Dec 17 2010, 04:41 AM

Because it's Warhammer.

Does anyone else hear 'Ultramarines' and just see blue people? smile.gif

Posted by: Zyerne Dec 17 2010, 05:03 AM

Now you got me thinking smurfs in power armor.

Posted by: Yerameyahu Dec 17 2010, 05:10 AM

Exactly! It's unavoidable. smile.gif

Posted by: Stahlseele Dec 17 2010, 01:25 PM

Ultramarines have been called smurfs for ages O.o

Posted by: Yerameyahu Dec 17 2010, 03:04 PM

That's mostly because in the Gritty, Dark Future, Smurfs do not exist. nyahnyah.gif

Magneus Calnar as Papa Smurf is an image I can't quite reconcile.

Posted by: Doc Chase Dec 17 2010, 07:42 PM

Noodle this one:

Abaddon the Despoiler as Gargamel.

Posted by: Stahlseele Dec 17 2010, 07:56 PM

Well . . official Artwork does lend itself pretty well to that image . .

"Papa Calnar and the Smurf Marines of Ultramar face their greatest foe yet.... Gargamel the Despoiler!"

They exist in the annals of history. Most likely, and hopefully, lost to time.

I think that's my one problem with the movie. It's only available as special edition and thus kind of overly expensive. I'd consider getting it if it was in the normal $15-20 range.

Anyone actually gotten it and can give any idea of if it is good or not?

Posted by: Stahlseele Dec 18 2010, 11:07 AM

worst thing about it is the fact thatz it is only sold online on their website, not in a single shop.
not even in a games work shop i think . .

That vaguely reminds me [the word "hardcore"] of the picture I got out of National Lampoon magazine, about 20 years ago, of papa smurf taking strawberry shortcake from behind.

I enjoyed the UM movie. It's not high art but it is entertaining.

Finally saw the movie. Really loved the voice acting and story, not so fond of the animation.
