So, apparently one of the designers who worked on Portal left Valve to make another science-themed first-person puzzle game. It's called Quantum Conundrum, and it's actually pretty good. The basic mechanic is at least as cool as Portal's... well, portals, and the puzzles are well-crafted without being cranium-smashingly obtuse. Also, http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MissionControl is voiced by John de Lancie! Professor Quadwrangle lacks GLaDOS' comedic sociopathy, but still manages to be funny, and whips out the occasional agonizing pun.

Bottom line: Quantum Conundrum is fun, and well worth $15.
