Dumpshock Forums _ General Gaming _ You know you've been on Dumpshock too long if...

You hit F5 to refresh the screen when your IM conversations hit a lull.

Posted by: grendel Oct 19 2004, 07:11 PM

You're waiting for Nikoli's wife to say something else because the first four were so damn funny. smile.gif

Thank, I'll pass that along to her. There actually have been several others, but I've hit the limit on size for my sig frown.gif .

Also, my wife thanks you for your fandom.

Yes, clearly. Is she the one that once said "It's hard to fell cute when you wake up in a puddle of your own blood?" She SHOULD play shadowrun.

I've been trying to get her to play for over a year now, just can't seem to motivate her.

Yes, Doc, I know that...I was on the 2 version of DSF before this one.
But I missed out on the coffee colored version.

Posted by: Fortune Oct 26 2004, 12:29 PM

And Deep Resonance before that. wink.gif

1) You know what NERPS means. Double points if you you've explained it to a "newb." smile.gif

2) You've read a newb's bellicose post and responded by telling him or her the "ettiquette rules" of the 'Shock. Double points if you crossed your fingers and hoped no one would point out how you were the same way when you started.

3) You no longer get excited when you get a personal invite to an online game.

4) You've changed your screen name more than once to aviod hate posts.

5) You no longer think AH is a GOD (just a brilliant man. Or a room full of monkeys with typewriters.) [aside: I still think you're the man smile.gif]

6) Another DSer references you in a post to make point. (wink.gif)

7) You no longer think its cool when another DSer references you in a post to make a point.

8 ) You've met Adam (or any admin) in RL.

9) You have Adam's (or any admin's) cellular device number. Double points if you have used it.

10) You're office mates can recognise the 'Shock when its up on your screen.

11) You don't care.

12) During meetings you spend your time planning your reponse to a post.

13) You have been suspened from the 'Shock.

14) You wonder what happend to Sub Rosa (or anyone that spent most of his or her time in the Lounge).

15) You've had a battle of witts (or wills) with Polaris. Double points if you came out even. Triple points if you came out on top.

16) You've actually completed a "Welcome to the Shadows" run. Double points if you were the GM.

17) You spent last New Year's Eve engaged in the Human's vs. Horrors flame war. You know who you are. nyahnyah.gif

18) You know how to search the Old Forums. Double points if you are actually good at it.

19) You've posted a link to a older thread in response to often repeated question (skillwires, shotguns, decking, rigging, the AVS, sleeping with your Dikoted Ally Spirit, etc.) Double points if you didn't feel smug while doing so.

20) You took the time to read this post. Double points if you responded.

I hit a couple of those, but not many of them truely apply to me...mostly, I know the history of most of them, but not by first hand. I'd say I'm around the 3rd Generation of DSFers while that list would refer to the 2nd (? "Neuron Basher, Adam, Pistons, et al" being the 1st Gen.)

This thread brings such sweet memories.

As for that list, I came on at the brown forums, them were the days.

I remember lambasting everyone for info about Target: Awakened Lands because it took me 6 months from release to find a copy in Sydney.

And a warm reception I got to.

If I could check my % of posts from the lounge, it's still probably about 80% of my total posts here, I tend to lurk a fair bit unless it's topic about australia.

Back when the longest run was 2000 posts and it was the Renraku Ark run. Who was the guy who ran that, Chet, or Charly, something like that. He is long since gone now.
