I recall someone mentioning that a Shadowrun MMORPG was in the works. Is this for real or just a rumor? If it's real, is thre any news on its progress.

There was one floating around a few years ago. It was "for real" in the sense that people appeared to actually be devoting time to it. "For real" in the sense of ever having a chance of turning into a product? That was… somewhat less clear.

http://shadowrunmmo.com/ was one, but they received a "Cease and Desist" order from Microsoft. I think there was another one called "Awakenings" or some such but I can't find a link to it right now.

The bottom line is that the only company authorized to make a video game based on the Shadowrun IP is Smith and Tinker.

After that fiasco that Microsoft perpetrated for the Xbox... not really, but one can always hold out some hope...
