Use unarmed skill? That's what it looks like reading howling shadows when using natural weapons? Well for melee, looks like exotic for ranged weapons.
Yes. Unless a given weapon says otherwise (like breath weapon which is exotic) it is generally unarmed combat.
Page 399 of the core SR5 rules covers this under the description of the Natural Weapon power.
