has anyone played with the authoring kit for Hero Lab 3 to get an SR4 data set together?

I haven't.. but they advertised the Shadowrun Logo at their booth at Gencon.

When I asked, they talked about contracts and whatnot...

If there was an SR dataset, I'd buy Hero Lab... until then... it's not worth it to me.

Hi everyone,

I'm one of the developers for Hero Lab. Shadowrun was one of the very first game systems to give us a go-ahead for Hero Lab support years ago; unfortunately, things keep getting in the way of us actually signing the contract (Wizkids getting bought by Topps; layoffs at Wizkids; Wizkids closing down). frown.gif

We very much want to get Shadowrun support included in Hero Lab, we just need to get the paperwork signed. Hopefully that will be soon...

Awesome, thanks for the offical answer!

Colen,

What is the status on this? Will Hero Labs ever be able to develope Shadowrun characters?

I attended one of the authoring kit seminar's at GenCon and was pretty damn impressed with what they had. Using the authoring kit you can "essentially" re-write the entire program, GUI and all. But since it's a small company (I believe there are what two-three developer's on board full time, right Colen?) I imagine writing the entire data and game rules from scratch take a chunk of time since the majority of their experience is with d20 based systems.

I know it's taken me two years to get anywhere as close as I am with my gamemode and dataset for PCGen, and I'm the only one working on it, and I don't even get involved with the code, just data. smile.gif
