One may PM others by clicking on the X new messages button at the top of the page. This gets one onto ones messenger page, then select Compose New Message and one is on ones way. One difference will be the need to spell the recipients name in the address block, as it was a gimme going through their profile.

It was unfortunate that a thread complaining of this issue was locked before and without a helpful suggestion included.

Whoops!

I hate clicking through links, especially vague ones (not that the one of interest here was all that vague) and obviously did not follow the link, thinking it led to the yeah, we know there are problems with the board - they will be fixed shortly thread.

Sorry for any slight, real or imagined.

I actually think it was a good idea to have a thread dedicated solely to this problem. I know that I have given these same PM directions over a dozen times myself in various other non-related threads.
