So to access the search interface in any useful manner (the full-option search) now requires three clicks—one on Search to bring up the quick search panel, another on "more search options" to get to a page that's almost identical in functionality (it allows selecting forum to search in, at least), and then a third click on "more options" to finally get to the proper search interface.
Is there any chance that this can be reduced? Best would be getting rid of the quick search panel and just going directly to the "advanced" search interface, but getting rid of the "slightly-more-featureful-but-not-really" page would be a significant improvement, at least.

I was going to mention this the other day and forgot.
PLEASE to make the search link just go straight to the "advanced" (i.e. useful) search page.
I would strongly support skipping straight to advanced search too
I believe I just took at least 1 step out. Redjack's better at the interface than me, so I'm not sure about getting rid of the "Quick Search" feature and just warping to "Advanced Search"
Give it a try and see if it eases your pain a bit though.
Thank you!
Pain slightly eased, much appreciated!

That is a bit better. Halfway there!
That is great
The only strictly improvement would be making the drop down quick search menu a 'mouse over' drop down OR changing it so a second click on search took you to advanced search (I would like this too)
But this is certainly usable. Thanks.
Hey, would it be possible to eliminate that "One of your keywords was 4 characters or less; you fail" condition? Searching long threads for specific words shouldn't be this impossible, and the four-letter thing fails even if the word is in the middle of a long quote.
Huh. I guess that's a no then?
I didn't even know it was a problem, but I, too, support the idea.
"One or all of your search keywords were below 4 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please go back and increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords."
Well, still there. Is there a problem indexing small words or something? What's really annoying me is how the search fails even if the 3-4 letter word is part of an exact quote.
