So on a lark, I've tried to spend about a month away from Dumpshock, despite the fact that I usually have it open and hit refresh with as much frequency as a crackhead joneses for a fix. Instead, I spent a large amount of time on an unrelated science fiction author's forums. You know, just for a change of scenery and to see if I could.

And now that I'm back, here's what I want to say: thank you guys for making Dumpshock awesome.

You're intelligent people, capable of having (relatively) reasoned discussions and playing point-counterpoint, rather than engaging in ad hominem attacks, issue-clouding, and rampant assholery. Well. Except for Doc Funk, maybe, but that's part of his charm.

So yeah, I've seen visiting the other parts of the internet, and jesus. It's like Masterpiece Theatre up in here. It's good to be back.

Yeah, this place is remarkably sane--especially for a pen & paper RPG forum. Don't think I'm ever going back to the WOTC boards. You know they had to ban katana threads there once?

Agreed. I haven't been on the WotC forums in like 2 years now.

I dunno. Go look at the arguments over the current Matrix rules.

Don't get me wrong. This is one of the best forums I visit, but it's not perfect. Every forum has a http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BerserkButton after all.
