There is a spam bot in the Forum ... it give us deals on Viagra !

If you find spam, simply click on the "Report" button in the lower left hand corner of the post.

hiddengrid has been hit a bit lately also...I have learned to take pleasure in zapping them...kinda like stepping on cockroaches though..kill one and 10 more show up...

Quote the spam, be sure note the username who sent it and send it to an admin.

Annoying, getting spam PMs multiple times now each from a different account.

Reported, but there's gotta be a way to prevent them.

We are (I am) going to modify the board to create a group for new, probationary members. Those members will be allowed to post, but not PM. After ~10 posts then they will be allowed to PM. This should short most of the chaff out of the wheat.

And any idea about when that outage is going to be?
Or was it allready, since i had some problems accessing the boards today?

The wrinkle earlier was Apache not killing stale threads. That happened about a week ago.

Actually the outage should be short for this change. No more than a few minutes to edit the board config and bounce Apache. Double that if I have to roll back.

Kinda sad that a board like this seems to have a better IT staff than the multi billon dollar AAA Corp i work for . . good on you guys ^^
