If you have 10 PCs, ever think of running both groups simulanously throught the missions to see how each group accomplishes it differently? Might not be too much extra work, since you'll already be brushed up on the missions, the personalities of the NPCs, etc.

It was the first thing I considered when I started putting together the "bench" list. I think I'll get these five running, and give myself a two week differential, and if all is going well, start up a second set. |

Sensible. Since I got in the game late, I'm sure I'm on the bench. Got a character sheet together. Man 320 BPs is tough to package a character together with. Lots of trade offs.

Yeah, my character isn't so much a runner, as a guy who will become a Runner.

It's really challenging to go the awakened route at 320. I was thinking of an adept rigger, but it was too costly. Just stick to cheap 'wares. Combat Bikers are interesting though, you can't really got with the whole, hotsim VR tactic for rigging. So I'm going AR remote control method.
J Packer - Question, do you allow the stacking of IPs from Cram and Wire Reflexes? Or is it just the +1 for Wired Reflexes? |

Okay, caution to the wind:
I have interest from four others, and am opening a fifth slot on the second team right now. Black Hat, Kim, Zyern and Klink, send me your stuff - character synopsis, character sheet, Runner's Companion questions, ridiculously convoluted bio, whatever you have, to DenverSRMissions - at - Yahoo -dot- com The next individual to post here their intent to join the second team, with a brief synopsis of the character type they want to portray, will be taken into consideration first. At that point, there will be no more slots, and you can't convince me that running a third thread of the same campaign will be a piece of cake! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

If there's still adding to the bench, I'd like to throw my hat in. I've had a few character concepts in mind of late, and one works fairly well at lower BP games (i.e. not a magical or resonant type)

I'll have it to you within a few hours, gotta finish some school work first, and look through the book a bit better to flesh out the character a bit more, but the mundane I have in mind is an ork street doc/mortician who lost her license and now is working the shadows even to get by. But if the team needs something else, I'll change it up.

Hmmm, we have a cat shaman, a go-ganger rigger, and looks like a tribal street sam, plus whatever BlackHat has cooking, so we need a face and someone who can heal (since the sammy doesn't have it).... hmm..... maybe not an ork since those two roles rely on the attributes that she is nerfed in.... maybe a human or dwarf then (or an elf, but I've got enough of those right now).

The Cat Shaman has Charisma 7, which is pretty high. Only influence group 1. I'm gonna have 5-6 dice for social rolls as well. Not great, but serviceable. I figure I'll branch into hacking a little, but definitely not much. Only ever be about 8-10 dice after a couple sessions, and even then, it will just be for super important stuff. Some healing would be good for sure. Other than that, you can pretty much have a pick of whatever you want.

I have the idea pretty firmly in mind now, a cynical (and slightly morbid) dwarven street doc who lost her license, and while in conversation with her local contact in Denver, it went something like this.
"You could be a mortician! Seriously though, have you given any thought to your career plans now?" "I guess I'll just wait around for people to kick the bucket." "I can't believe you're not more ambitious." "You want me to kill people to drum up business?" |

Just recall - everyone - that you're new to Denver, and new to the streets. No problem here, as you'd likely want to leave the town where you were busted from being a Doc... |

Still interested but my first idea ended up a lot like Sab's, and I wasn't very fast at getting back to this thread. If I think of something awesome I'll join the queue, but otherwise I'll probably just watch. Black Hat, Kim, Zyern and Klink, send me your stuff - character synopsis, character sheet, Runner's Companion questions, ridiculously convoluted bio, whatever you have, to DenverSRMissions - at - Yahoo -dot- com I had kind of stopped working on it, but I'll try to get something together tonight (to busy at work to do much more than mul it over), but if I don't, and someone comes sniffing around for that sixth spot, I won't mind if you let them have mine - I've definitely been slacking. SleepIncarnate said something about team-2 needing a face or someone who can heal (but also has a street-doc in mind - but maybe meant magical healing), so I'll probably be looking at a face-ish character unless the rest of the team suggests something we need worse. I have a couple of ideas that might work well for a street-level game. |

Okay, still not a lot of time to put the details together (will get to it tonight), but I am thinking about reworking a con-man/pickpocket idea I proposed in another thread and decided not to use, so if there is still room in team 2 for me, I can get the details emailed out tonight and he should help on the face side of things (maybe just a die or two more than the cat shaman, though) and have some other useful skills (slight of hand, misdirection, stealth, etc) - and he should be fun to play, too.
The idea works better with the limitations of this game than it does without, I think - I don't have the pressure to max everything out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

And yes, I actually prefer this lower-powered start to the 400 BP starting point where you're easily tempted to be excellent at everything. |

Quick question. The vendetta quality really fits this character, but it requires that the subject be an enemy with an incidence rating of at least 4. The definition of Incidence 4 is:
QUOTE Antagonist: The characters move in the same social circles and are in frequent competition. Everyone in the local shadow community is aware of their conflict. This doesn't seem to fit the feel of the game you're talking about. Would you allow this quality for a character with a lower Incidence? Her vendetta enemy isn't a runner either, but IS a medical field person, so it could work either way. |

If you're new in Denver, you've not had time to really build up any enemies to have vendettas with as of yet. And if the enemy is out of town, it makes it harder to figure out how to bring him or her into the game... |

Doctor Opheliac:
The good doctor, at first glance, doesn't look too terribly out of place among common society. Granted, she doesn't exactly look like she belongs either, an amerind dwarf who doesn't seem to get along well with others and rarely smiled, but she doesn't look like your "typical runner" either. Standing at just over a meter tall, she was a bit short even for a dwarf, but had a slightly athletic build to her, more lithe than stocky. Her wavy, dark brown hair went down to about mid-back on her, with bangs that sometimes partially obscured her dark brown eyes. Clothing wise, she often wore a dark green top and a pair of old jeans with work boots, throwing on a coat when necessary. |

Part of the reason she's come to Denver is hunting down this character, he's the reason she lost her license (in a bid for a job in Denver). Also, just to make sure, we're not factoring in the 110% costs for size modification on gear at creation, are we? Most don't but there's always that rare GM who says yes. |

Yeah, I'm going to have to say no to the Enemy/Vendetta combination at this point. I can't figure out how to ensure that there would be enough incidence woven into the storylines from the Missions games. And no, no need for special small gear. I've never used that rule - as realistic as it might be. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |
