Well, there you go then. I've given you the opportunity to end the conversation gracefully. It was the "cold calls a specialty" line that got me confused. they are (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) and he knows how not to do them too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Which is what he was going for there. |

Wow, looks like Group 2 is kinda falling apart (I peeked at their OOC, so I only know about the bickering. Not the context.)
Makes me realize that while we have a strange kind of leadership setup. AFAIK, Lyle is leading in a general sense, while Warden has made quicker, more on-the-fly combat calls. Guess it makes sense. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/question.gif) |

Rick is a Manager (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
He manages.. that also means, he lets people do what they're good at. And he's not really thinking of himself as a Leader.. He's not even trying to be the leader. He's just being him. |

Yeah, perhaps.. but Ghost is no shy flower, and Cruiser (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) is well.. Cruiser.. he's still so hung up about Knight Errant, he can't see straight.
Von is an unknown quantity. So we're still fleshing out our mechanics. Really.. Rick is a brains type. He makes leaps of logic, because he's got literally hardware that dos processing for him and spits out answers and stuff. He's really not equiped to be a combat leader. He doesn't have combat paralysis, but he does have combat inexperience. |

Warden has a pretty good brain but it's focused on combat and material concepts (hence the lack of actual matrix skills). I get the feeling that coming from a background of Employer abandonment should have effects on personality that I'm not putting into the role play, but I'm just not clear on it. I didn't put a lot of thought into Warden's psychology. :x |

Well, at least it will keep her warm during the winter, right? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Bye Thanee Especially since it heats up to 70 celsius inside. >_> EDIT: Okay, so I think 4.8 ghz is my comfortable ceiling. 5.0+ makes things too hot (an is only stable at dangerous voltage levels). Anyway, back to shadowrun! |

I'm going to get a Sandy Bridge system during the next months as well. My old computer is slowly falling apart. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Did you get the i5-2500K or the i7-2600K? Bye Thanee |

Bye Thanee 2500k. It comes with a dinky cooler though, so if you plan on overclocking, (and with a k series, it's fairly clear you intend to) you should get a good air cooler. I use a corsair a70 myself. |

Nah, I do not OC myself. I was listing those in my question, because you quite obviously did. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
But I never take the standard coolers. Always better to have something good there. I do not build those machines myself, though. It doesn't cost much to get a professionally built machine with exactly the parts you want. Bye Thanee |

I had no idea you were all a bunch of hardware hackers. I'm a DBA by day, and have lost most of my PC building and troubleshooting chops.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) If you're not Overclocking it and/or not having it overclocked, don't bother getting a k series. It is strictly for overclockers as it just gives you an unlocked multiplier. But I never take the standard coolers. Always better to have something good there. . If I was a DBA or some other admin, I'd be fraking sick of dealing with computers all day. To be honest J, overclocking hardware now is as easy as buying the "unlocked" versions of your CPU. Boosting RAM, GPU, and even motherboard frequencies often give little advantage compared to the days of yore. Mostly they just destabilize the system. CPUs are the last bastion of practical overclocking and unlike the old days, you can't just take a pencil and short a couple pins on your CPU to unlock your multi, gotta pay the piper $20. |

In case you're wondering, Sabs, Warden is discretely offering to put hot sim on your 'link. It'd be that switch that "goes to 11"
Not sure Rick would realize the dangers, but it WOULD let you get +2 DP to everything while it's running. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

I've been playing Deckers since before you knew what Shadowrun was (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
I figured you were offering something like that. He would know about the dangers. Rick used to sell Cyberware to rich idiots (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) If you've ever seen Repomen? Think of one of the Sales guys in the front office. |

Long gone are the days of the Celeron 300A, a processor that, with the right board, could be overclocked nearly 100%... Those were the days. |
