Hey folks,
Does anyone know of scanins of KaGe Magazine issues? Or have you seen any for sale anywhere? Real magazines trump scanins, but I'd take what I can get. I hope this isn't infringing anyone's copyright, but I'd assume this is futile since these have been OOP for what, almost 20 years now? |

It was a new 'magic' archetype created for Kage magazine.
The Null Adept projected an anti-magic field where no magic functioned. More or less someone got the bright idea of importing the effect of the same name from D&D. Kinda flies in the face of how magic works in SR. There might be areas where it's more difficult to use magic, but there shouldn't be any kind of effect that just completely shuts magic off. -k |

QUOTE It was a new 'magic' archetype created for Kage magazine. Actually, a translated bit from the German-only Austria book (though they might've gotten it form That Game, I dunno). And yes, the Null Adept is an IE/GD killer. Fluffwise, in that suplement, that is what they were created for ... smetime past. It's bizarre, but it flies in the face of SR magic no more than how dragons were made Godzilla after YotC (or the entire 4E magic rules for that matter). |

You mean like Deep Space? -12 is effectively shutting Magic off unless you are an IE or Great Dragon. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) A -12 mana void is extremely difficult to use magic in, but technically not impossible. A flat 'magic doesn't work here' is what a Null Adept is. Thinking on it, I also recall that the article had an example of a spirit being tasked to pass through a Null Adept's field. The spirit moved towards the field, then executed some turns so it went around the field instead of through it. When asked why it made those turns, it stated that it had not done such a thing, that it went in a straight line. I don't know anything about the German supplement, I only saw it in Kage. I still have that fan club membership badge here somewhere... -k |

As far as I know, all the Ka*Ge back-issues haven't quite made it to PDF form, unless they've been scanned & saved by someone who has all the issues & took the time to do so. Speaking as one who subscribed back in the day, I still have all my issues (plus the one with my own contribution, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ). It was a good little mag, but unfortunately ended rather quickly.

I have #0 to #11 in physical format, and #12 in JPG-format.
The nega-mage (null-mage) was actually mentioned in one of the original Secret of Power books. Lars |
