(IMG:style_emoticons/default/eek.gif) Wind shear; the cloud is over an updraft that's sucking moisture up over the dew line, making a cloud form; over that are some high level winds that are whipping that cloud into that shape. (Science! It works!) |

Those remind me of sandstone formations. Very neat. A couple of them also remind me of the Guild navigator's sarcophagus in Dune. Wind shear; the cloud is over an updraft that's sucking moisture up over the dew line, making a cloud form; over that are some high level winds that are whipping that cloud into that shape. (Science! It works!) Yep, the same basic wind processes that makes water waves. It's just not something I'd ever seen in clouds. Cool! |
