The "Killed everything with in 50 miles" Thing had me a bit surprised. Turns out it was figerative. Apperently he was carried aloft several KM into the sky and tried to use his entropy powers like he had in Cali. The rite from Aztlan sort of batted it back at him. He took out every living thing with in half a KM, but as he was several KM up, the only ones would have been pilots, and most of those were dead by this point.

Still pretty badass but not quite as dramatic as killing everything with in 50 KM.

Good stuff!! The information from the hidden stories is here but more. Pretty hard pounding fight with the dragon! Navy, multiple air units, tons and tons of drones. Hidden stratigy. Build up to pull it off. (( explained build up too. Not just "Hidden forces noone knew about all launched at the same time. Surprise!!")) they went into detail about how Aztlan was taking hit after hit after hit and almost losing the war, to set up this offensive against the dragon (And taking Bogata).

It was well done. As were some things that you need to read between the lines for. Such as Aztland fielding drones for the purpose of being destroyed, both just to have more things flying at the dragon to keep him off center.... and also... full of their new bio-chemical agent.... I.E. they purposefully filled old drones with the Blue, and flew them at Sirrung's face, knowing he'd swat them out of the sky, and this would deploy the agent onto/into the dragon. (On his skin and breathing it in) Then pounded on him with everything they had to breach his skin to make sure more got in.

The fight was pretty dramatic.

And... in the end.... Aztlan's rite, 'sorta' worked and reflected his Entropy power back on him. After being pounded on by armies for hours he finally crashed to earth. A huge storm blew in and some dragons flew in and got him, leaving a crater and scorch mark. (( I've seen this is explained in later chapters))

So.. Aztlan DID beat him, and if not for intervention from Draconic forces, they'd have killed him too. (( You're not going to 'imprision' him with normal Metahuman ways)).

Important note, all that Dragon weapon they deployed against him was sucked up into the clouds during air spirit magic and his own rite and stuff...... and it went down the coast afterwards.

Why is this important you may ask?

Well it's reveiled later on, both directly and indirectly.

Just after the fight with the dragon, Aztlan started it's second offensive. Full out push for Bogata. It was hinted eariler that the units that were being 'hidden' and moved around wern't ALL for the Dragon killin'. And they wern't.

When Aztlan was fighting the Dragon, Amazonia went "Hey look!! All the troops are up there. Lets come out of the woods and take Bogata!! So they move in. The Az forces Inside Bogata went "Oh Frak no you wont!!" and pushed back. This is when the AZ forces also came in from the rear. Forming for a better word, a Donut effect. Az at the center, pushing out and taking out comprimized AM assets, AM trying to get in to take Bogata, and then a ring of AZ forces (( heavily augmented by the big merc groups)) around the out side of the AM forces. So Az had um coming and going.

Fight fight fight with people seeming to go just bug nutty and mean.

Remember that Blue stuff in the clouds? Here's where it comes in. Apparently, it affects Metahumans... and gives them "Blood Fury" People just went crazy tearing at one another. Shooting everything till they ran out of ammo then drawing knives and swords and charging enemy positions, through incoming fire and such to mix it up hand to hand. The way they lay it out in the book is nice. You get the instances of crazed fighting and just how bad it was down there... then you get a sort of dieing declaration from Black Mamba laying out, that it's the Blue Dragon weapon that's affecting people.

long story short, Bogata was tore up bad. The Merc units were either shredded by Incoming Az surprise attack (Like Picador's. She's alive but tore up and has had multiple surgeries.), or, the Merc units really tore each other up from the Blue influenced fury.

More interesting is... at some point along the way. CLICK, it was shut off. They describe it in the book quite literally as if a switch was thrown, and those in the combat area all the sudden just lost the battle blood lust and stopped.

There was firebombing of the forests and stuff. People have asked, why didn't Az do this from the start, and I put forth the reasoning of, "They weren't going scorched earth in land they wanted to occupy. If someone takes Washington DC and we're fighting to get it back, we don't burn every tree in Maryland and Virginia. You got people living there and want there to be something left if you win. (That doesn't even factor in the OTHER Great Dragons that don't like it when you mess with mother nature.))

At this point in the war, Azlan finally was pushed over that edge and started doing so.

The UN finally steps in and sends in the FMC to act as peace keeping troops. (( Again.. Landing at Cali and moving inland. Not Bogata itself. ))

War's over. Border's moved, but not amazingly much. Aztlan won and in the end came out looking like an underdog who was picked on by the UN and the CC.

All in all a really good wrap up to that storyline. The information is packed in there, it's alot to bite off, chew and digest. At some points you ask your self "Ok why are they going on for 2 pages about moving around these units secretly. Ok.. I get it, secret build up to take out the dragon.. I get it. Then when it happens you get it, because it was a two pronged thing. Not "Just" the dragon, but the dragon and the finally push to take Bogata that then, ends the war. You see the surpreme gamble that Aztlan (And Aztechnology) Engaged in, to try and win. It was a '3 seconds left... 99 yard to go, hail mary. And it worked.

Don't get me wrong. I hate Aztechnology as much as anyone and Aztlan is just their puppet government... but this chapter was well done. Even if the "bad guys" won.

It would depend on the purpose. The forces were moved during the UN sanctions against Aztlan. Most of world trade goes by sea, what is it, 80 to 90% now? if you're trading from North America (Including Mexico and Texas, whom where at the time part of Aztlan) Down to SA, you come out of the gulf and head south.

Holding the gulf also prevents travel or attack coming north via the sea. If Am wanted to move forces up and around the Yukatan to come at Technochitlan (Mexico City) They come in via the Gulf of Aztlan (Mexico) Or in the Pacific, where Aztlan also had forces. Turns out those were the ones primarily used in the Dragon engagement as it happened near Acapulco, and looking at a map, pretty close to the capital.

Most importantly, it's stated straight out why Aztlan moved some of it's naval forces there.

Cruise missile artillery support for the retaking of Bogata.

He is arrested and charged for spirit summoning (and treason). By Ghostwalker, because Ghostwalker decides that spirit summoning is a crime, and charges Perianwyr retroactively. Weekend Eclipse is firebombed, because bands were slated to play there in support of Perianwyr , to raise money for his trial.
