@PG: Grease's actual cut is 23,250 after the 12K for the advance is taken out. We're supposed to get paid 105,000 if we return the goods. There's an extra 52,500 out there if we kill Huiquing, but the gang kind of soured on that, so I don't think we would mention that part.

I put it at 20K so you could RP a counter-offer if you want. If you don't want to bother with that, then I can change it to the actual amount. Just let me know.

I was going to do a Judge Intentions vs your Con rto see if you were fudging on the money but then I thought Sisco knows you're probably fudging on the numbers a bit, but in his present circumstances he'd figure not to tempt fate too much and take the 20k and the insurance on his vehicle rather than haggling for a few thousand more.

Ok - with Sisco on board, I think we can jump to getting the stuff?

Jack, you have to get your stuff from Tara, are you also going to get Grease's from Stone, or do you want Sisco to do that?

If so, do you want me to post it, or do you?

I figure we can handle that bit of business, and then swing by and pick up Snap on the way to Huiquing's estate.

Since Sisco knows Stone, maybe have him get the stuff Grease ordered. I'll handle Tara.

Posting is up to you if you want. I probably won't be able to post anything of substance until this evening.

Ok - PG, why don't you go ahead and post an interaction between you and Stone with you picking up the cases that Grease ordered.

Jack - no rush, you can post you getting the stuff from Tara tonight (Work is a little busy today so I wouldn't be able to post until tonight either)

This way tomorrow we can push ahead to picking up Snap from Heaven's Rest and heading back to the estate.

I don't see where the team paid for the merchandise....so, unless someone transfers the funds to Sisco, I don't see him fronting the money as there was no advance on this job (for Sisco that is).

Although it may not have been explicitly stated, I believe the intent was that they paid for the merchandise when they ordered it. You can go ahead and post assuming that the product was paid for.

Although, did we get pricing on the cases? I checked the tracking sheet and don't see an expense on there. I an update that tonight. I'll add a sheet for Sisco too.

Edit: Found it. 200 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) I'll update the resource tracker and take it out of our Team funds. LOL, with Sisco speaking Mandarin, I feel really dumb about spending 3K or whatever on that linguasoft now. Oh well.

Ok - first transition post up.

I left it there in case anyone had anything that they wanted to do in those 3 hours or so - if so, I can go back and edit that post to include whatever it was you did.

In the meantime, I'm going to put up another transition piece that puts you at the Huiquing estate - and then it is back over to you guys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thinking it through... as a courtesy, we should probably send a message to Chapel about Grease, since they're kind of buddy-buddy.

That one is my bad. I forgot that the spirit you had summoned earlier had been sent on a remote service and thus was no longer under your control. I was thinking you had one spirit controlled and one bound.

I think I can leave it as it is, since I imagine that you will be summoning another spirit to help you guys out (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Before I do an IC post, the stuff that Grease left behind is in his van or my van?

The only van we have is yours. The stuff Lobo listed is what Grease brought across the border with him. The smaller stuff (pistol, etc) was on his person when he was arrested. The other stuff is in the back of your van.

I'm not sure how much use we're going to get out of it as he is still the owner of all that gear, so I think we would have to hack a lot of it. Since the FlySpys were never rebooted, I think several of us still have MARKs on those drones.

you guys went ahead and fast forwarded it after my last post... I guess you forgot I suggested to Mel changing ownership. We probably didn't have time to do more than one item (the RCC probably) but I can use my data jack and can plug right into the RCC and slave the drones to it without changing ownership.

This is what I was talking about when I said I had my post so we can put stuff in there (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

However, as far as ownership, I doubt you even have time to change even one item.

To do this requires an Extended Hardware + Logic [Mental] (24, 1 hour) test.

Mel can make the test herself, rolling 9 dice, then 8, then 7, then 6, etc - needing 24 hits, and each one of those tests takes one hour.

You guys can help her, but since none of you has the skill, your teamwork dice would be Logic -1:

Jack 2 dice
Amy 1 die
Sisco 1 die

You are all very likely to glitch (or critically glitch) rather than actually help Mel out in that regard.

I have the Hardware skill... but again, I didn't realize it needed 24 hits... doesn't matter as you don't need ownership to jack into a device and use it.
I seriously doubt Grease is getting on the matrix to track down his RCC and order it to reboot to kick me off.

Whoops!

You are correct - somehow I missed the fact you had Hardware (not sure how right now, but that's another story).

Unfortunately though, I don't actually think you can just jack into something and use it without having Marks on it.

Marks are something that are between a persona and an icon. Ownership gives you 4 marks on an icon. Apart from that, the only way to get Marks would be to have the Owner invite you (using the Invite Mark action - which requires Ownership), or to Brute Force or Hack on the Fly a Mark onto the item.

So, for instance, in order to use the Control Device action on one of his drones, you would need to have at one, two, or 3 Marks on the drone itself. Otherwise someone else could simply find the icon and control your drone.

In order to jump into the drone, you would require 3 Marks on that drone.

In order to Send a message, you need at least 1 mark on the drone (if you didn't, then anyone passing by with a commlink could simply tell the Autopilot of your drone to do whatever they wanted.

All jacking into the device does is it makes it so that if you are trying to use any Matrix Actions on the device, then you are only being resisted by its Device Rating x2 - even if that item is part of a PAN or slaved to a host.

So in order for any of Grease's equipment to be useful (apart from one of the Fly Spy drones and the Microskimmer that he invited Jack and Mel to put Mark's on) you are going to have to change ownership, which is going to take more time than you have.

So I guess all the car thieves in the world have to have a tow truck or be a decker cause they can't get the car to work otherwise.

Not really - closest thing to that would be for Mel to put a mark on Greaes persona and then use the Spoof Command icon to have the drones Invite a mark from you.

Honestly the best thing would be to just have Mel put a mark or two on all the drones - and then she can control them - and you control your own drones.

Just remember since those marks would be gained illegally that the clock for GOD to show up will start (not like they will show up right away - just giving you the heads up.)

Just so that I got my head wrapped around this.

If I were to grab Grease's gun, I could fire it- it has a trigger.
But, since I'm not the owner I can not use the Smartlink even if I datajack into it. Right?

And I modified the post about the RCC, since Sisco unlike Martin would know he can't just jack in, so we can keep going.

That is a good question - I'm at my son's basketball game right now - basically anything that requires a Matrix Action that requires one or more Marks cannot be done unless you have those Marks. I'd have to look and see whether or not using the Smartlink would require Marks or not.
