While Shadows of North America and Runner Havens detail major hotspots, there are many areas that I would like to know about.

Especially where I live. For one because I began a campaign in my region; Wichita, Kansas. And because its interesting to note what has become of various locales.

Though I live here, I also have absolutely no idea about any of the current dealings, factions, or even history of the underworld in my area. Which keeps me from tossing out an educated guess as to how it would be in the future.

Maybe someone knows the who and what in an area, or simply how the sixth world has changed those areas or can make a good guess. Anyone willing to try? :D

Well, where I used to live: Utah, the cities of Salt Lake and Provo had become fundamentalist enclaves for the Mormon religion. It's awesome.
There are no guns allowed, they are protected by a strict peace force and pornography, "deviant" lifestyles and anything that doesn't coincide with their way of life is forbidden.
Outside of those cities, the majority of the Utah territory was turned back over to the Ute tribes. It's now part of the PCC.

Well I live in the metro Detroit area, so it's pretty much been covered.

Although I did make a mini "place" book for Detroit a few years back for SR3. I had neighborhood maps and everything. I submitted it to TSS, but it didn't seem to make it.

Chicago suburbs. nuff said. It would probably no longer be my state at that time as moving would be top priority.

I live in the bottom half of the state of Arizona in the city of Tucson. Based off the map provided in SoNA I live in the very tip of Aztlan. I'm pretty sure the border is between Phoenix and Tucson, so probably right around Casa Grande or Tultec. I'd definitey be moving but I'm pretty sure most of the shadow community deals with smugglers running the border or rebels fighting Aztlan.

I was born in Salem, Oregon and grew up in several Oregon cities so either way I'm pretty fragged. :)

...where I Now live: the TT. Really have no idea what it's like after the both the crash and Ehran & his buddies jumping the ship they sunk like the rats they were.

...where I grew up: the land flowing with Cheese and Beer. Am working that up on the side. Have some fairly good background already written on Milwaukee & will eventually detail Madtown - [yep, Jocko's Rocket Ship is still there on Gilmore (in spite of what happened back in 2000) and the ol Brat & Brew is still going strong. Of course then there's also Greek Row....but that's for another time].

Hmm not much happening out here in Canuck land. Though if Toronto and Ottawa expand that might make for an interesting run or two. Also depending on how much of the US constitution makes it into the UCAS, that might make things alot more interesting. (2nd amendtment in particular). Hmmm I may have to do some thing with my area as an adventure if only to defend the honour of the Canucks.

I'm in Northern California. With the Tir up North, as well as Hestaby there's plenty to do. Not to mention the void left by Saito's leaving, Sacramento, San Fran, and L.A.

Lake Tahoe is pretty close.

I'd guess there's a lot of local running, as well as magic snapping, crackling, and popping.

Im with KK, in the new, improved, IE free Tir Tairngire.

Dont know how or why things got this way, wish Fanpro (or whoever is doing it now) would publish some info on the current status. Kind of annoying buying both TT and SoNA not knowing what is going on. Not even a mention in Runner Havens.

I do recall a run proposed in System Failure about Lugh Surehand needing to get to Seattle, with the Ghosts after him (wtf was he doing?)

Though I'm living in NC, I was born and raised in Louisiana. And having lived most of my life a relatively short car ride from New Orleans, my interpretation of the State differs a good bit from canon.

First off, since the initial decimation of New Orleans, I have the city itself being rebuilt to much more modern standards. Though that isn't really happening IRL, it would be awesome if the city was reconstructed from the ground up. You have "old" New Orleans, covering most of what is left of the French Quarter and historic districts, and then you have "new" New Orleans, a cutting-edge technology enclave built on the eastern-most edge of the city. There would be a heavy corp presence, and it would be one of the most modern metropolises in North America, circa 2070.

I also have the Baton Rouge sprawl stretch from the Mississippi River on the west side of town all the way to New Orleans (yes, even across Lake Pontchartrain). The growth would be natural...with all of the job opportunities in "new" New Orleans, the current Baton Rouge population would migrate eastward (already happening IRL), increasing the population density between BR and NO.

I have a ton of other material, but don't want to take up excessive board space. PM me if you are interested.

...so, you from Madtown?

Haven't been back there in a while. Miss those summer & early fall days sitting outside Memorial Union on the lakefront drinking beer. Lat time I was there I was totally impressed by the explosion ofcraft Brewing. When I was in school there were maybe 6 beer taps (Schlitz, Pabst, Miller, one german import, Buttwiper & Strohs), Now it's like walking into a McMenamin's in Portland. A veritable wall of taps, most of them local brewers from Dane County & the surrounding area.

@TheOneRonin: I will, lived in NO for a while back in the mid 70s. One of my current characters, Hurricane Hannah, is a Cajun.

Real Cajun? As in, laissez le bon temps rouler, crawfish boiling, shirmp-boat driving, bayou-teche swimming, zydeco listening, squeeze-box playing cajun?

I grew up dead in the middle of Acadiana (where all the REAL Cajuns come from), so I'm pretty well versed in Cajun lore. I speak some cajun french (as well as some Parisian french) as well. And normally, I don't have much of an accent. However, when I get really pissed off, or really drunk, I sound like this guy.

Yeah, nothig ever really goes into the events of the CAS secession either. I figure that period was marked in Kansas as Bleeding Kansas 2: Electric Boogaloo. And honestly, in 2070 that's just 36 years ago. Everyone in positions of authority in that region vividly remembers the sanguinary secession bloodbath that marked Kansas staying in the UCAS while the Confedacy got everything in Missouri between Highway 44 and the Mississippi.

...all that and throws one hell of a punch (8DV) too (calls it her "Jambalaya Jab")

When I was down there, I had a good friend who was a Cajun. Yeah we did the ol' crawfish boils, a little foot stomp'n to Zydeco, & got pretty drunk. Didn't drive a shrimp boat though as he was a Pre-Med at Loyola.

You gotta PM me with a few good phrases for Hannah to use, been a while.

Also wouldn't mind seeing your work-ups on NO. I've been pretty preoccupied with Beograd, Zagreb, Hilo, Milwaukee, Madison, Tsiolkovskiy Station, and High Star Station.

Hmm... how much in the way of Mafia, Yak, and Triad? I'd bet it'd be rather light on all of them. Maybe non-existant in Yaks and Triad, but maybe some Mafia somewhere?

Basically, where are the hubs of the underworld in Kansas? XD

But the succession thing.. whoa. That would probably put Wichita as some sort of crazy area for UCAS opposition somewhere?

I live in Boise, Idaho. It's been mentioned a few times in SR doctrine and fiction (The Salish have control of a few nearby military bases, Sam Verner hides out in Boise for a little while in the first SR novel Never Deal With a Dragon.)

The thing that interests me is that if you check the NA 2070 map, Boise sits at the intersecting border of Salish-Shide, Tir Tairngire, and Pueblo Corporate Council, and is listed as a split city.

Not as cool as being from Denver or Seattle but still, Kinda cool.

That's exactly the kinda stuff I'm talkin' about!

As for where the criminal element would reside, that's not a problem either, really Kansas City, MO and St. Louis ensures that there's a Mafia presence at least neighboring Kansas at all times. The KC metropolitan area (remember, Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas are seperated only by a river) combines for 2 million people today, which makes it only 300 thousand less people than say, the Denver metro area, and it's position as the center of a border state between two countries could make things very, very interesting. And like Frank said, If you don't think that there isn't sharply divided opinion on each side of that CAS-UCAS border, you're kidding yourself. I'm just dying to know more about how everyone decided to cut Missouri in half.

Basically, Kansas is a really mellow place, if you don't count tornadoes or it's long and violent history as prime border war real estate.
