Soon as my character sheet is given the thumbs up, I'll make my first post.

Quentra: notify me either here in this thread or via a PM that it's been approved. If I'm at work I can't check my email, but I can still check and post to Dumpshock.

Yepyep. You can take tasking, then raise...say...compiling up a level for only four extra BP on top of the skill group! Honestly, its just logical that way.

If that's the case, I'm adding one to Resterend's Hacking skill. I've adjusted my post from way back when.

Sorry for the delay, folks!

I'm going to spend that final 4 BP to raise Assensing to 3. Let me know if that'll be alright. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Uh...Simply raising hacking up to three puts you 4 BP over. You have to take the skill group the skill is found in, take it to a certain level, then pay additional BP to raise the skill above that level.

Example:

Twitch the samurai wants to be know how to use all guns, but his chara's background is that he was a first line grunt for the UCAS Army. So, he takes the Firearms skill group at 4 (40 BP) then decides to raise his Longarms skill to 6 breaking the skill group for only 8 BP, for a total of 48 BP.

My fluff logic:

I never really understood why, if a character is supremely trained in a certain gun, or can drive, or can etcetera etcetera (rating 5 or 6), he still defaults when he switches to a different class of <blank>. If you're a UCAS front line soldier, for example, it makes no sense that your only weapons training would be in Automatics or Longarms. You should have the Firearms skill group, at least. Raising a skill within a skill group at chargen, to me, is just an example of the character first learning the generalistics, then focusing on a specific facet of the skill group. Remember, characters out of chargen are not newly born infants. They've often had years to hone their skills, gaining karma and raising skills/atts. On a side note, I really wanna use Frank's custom chargen rules now >.<

I hope that cleared some stuff up.

EDIT: Tabula Rasa, you seem to still have a BP to go. Dropping Influence a point gave you ten free BP, then 8 BP to raise Automatics to six. Two BP left, 1 to bump Recs to 50, which leaves you with...12788 :yen:? Tell me if I'm missing something. Also, Kookyjeld, you're cleared. Abschalten, you're cleared as well. Aaron, as soon as you can clarify what exactly you want to do with moving Hacking up a point, I'll clear you. Cthuludreams is cleared already...So that leaves Professeur to choose a gaes, Aaron to clarify, and everyone'll be wiz.

Okay, I made a quick change. I changed survival to Dodge and used the extra point I had to specialize vs. Firearms in it. Let me know if that's too broad...

Also about they yen, I spent enough to get to 250k. I bought an attention coprocessor, some extra gun mods, etc... for around 13k.

Should be all set now.

I assume you edited your earlier post? Also, by vs. Firearms, you meant Ranged Combat, right? Your choices are either Melee or Ranged. Speaking of which, where's Silky Skin? I can't find it in either Aug or the BBB.

EDIT: Nm, found it. Cosmetic, not actual. Quick recalc of your recs came up with the following calculation:

Ware: 181,350 :yen:

Gear: 73,157 :yen:

Total: 254,507 :yen:

About 5k over, as well as a BP over.

BP Calculations:

Atts: 200 BP

Race: 20 BP

Edge: 10 BP

Skills: 152 BP

Resources: 50 BP

Qualities: -35 BP

Contacts: 4 BP (x2 Cha free)

Total: 401 BP

I think that's right. You need to shave off a few things in gear, and drop either a contact point or a resource point.

Okay, deleted 5k worth of gear, then deleted another 5k because I had my lifestyle listed as costing only 5k when it should have been 10k and shaved off a point in contacts. Should be all set.

Oh, it would seem that I used the skill group trick in the first place. Never mind on the raising of the Hacking, I appear to be smarter than me.

Still 5k over >.< Well, 5602 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) . You were fine until I had to figure in the bike, so maybe...get 200 explosive rounds and only 1000 regular rounds? I mean, you have a shitload of ammo. Then just remove the Fichetti or drop a few grenades, and you're set.

Could my geas be that he has to continuously wear a religious symbol (probably a catholic cross with assorted medals), and lose 1 point of magic if he does not ?
