Sept 12 - STILL NO BOOKS _ WTF!

Three of the four books you ordered were [and still are] pre-orders and aren't available yet:

I miss emo samurai. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) ... I mean: "THEY ARE TAKING OUR JOOOOBS!", complete with shaking fists and stuff.

You guys should be mailing him empty boxes weekly, with a little note that says that.

That's just cruel, funny, but cruel. Don't forget to add rocks for weight, help him get his hopes up.

And the 4th book that is available in stores is where.......?

Well, if you ordered them all as one order...they will not ship until all books are available, as said in the little block that is on the pre-order pages?

Well, I've not had any sight of the rulebook that I ordered within a few hours of it being available on BattleCrap [in March of this year].

I'm pretty much unable to actually access my account on that website, so I'm very angry and annoyed at the whole thing.

I don't really care what the excuse is - BattleCrap isn't upto the job, and I won't buy from them again...
...Not least because I won't actually be able to access my account to make that purchase...
...And that's just a reflection on Catalyst, and SR v4 as a whole - big ambitions, but let down by the execution of those ambitions.

Properly done, the rulebooks that the company hyped and then sold should have been available soon after the convention...
...None of this 'pre-order" crap as an excuse - it's badly organised and done.

And I make sure I tell anyone I know who wants to buy online NOT to buy from BattleCrap - too unreliable, and just not worth the hassle.

Opinions are fine, man, and fully justified.

But if there is one long-standing rule of the internet, it's that using things like "M$" or "Suckbox" (crapbox!) makes you come across as a douche.

Personally, I was having problems accessing my account as well. I honestly think the login on the front of the page is broken in Firefox or something. So I went around the back by going, I think, to the community page and logging in there. This let me check the status of my orders. My LE is still listed as pre-order, but there is a side note that says my 20A book shipped separately. And lo and behold, it's in my hands.

I ordered with Catalyst for the LE, and for PDF's or if I am interested in the combo deal. In fact, I'm thinking of doing Seattle 2072 through Battlecorps so I can get the discount on the PDF. Otherwise I'll order through my local store. Catalyst sees the money either way. That's the nature of business.

Also, seeing as how they haven't processed your Street Magic yet, exactly what is stopping you from canceling that order and picking up Street Magic locally? Or better yet, buying it locally, then when your second copy comes in you sell one to your players? There have been tons of time I've wanted second copies of all my core books, so that I can use them while my players look over it. In fact it almost drove me to get a laptop just so I could do the PDF's.

The point is, these people are trying. The SR development itself has been screwed up as they looked for a new line developer, but now that the situation there has been resolved that should speed up. Battlecorps sounds like they need another employee or two, but if things continue to sell well that should happen soon too. And the book publishing is out of Catalyst's hands, as I believe they said the books are printed overseas and shipped over. That takes time.

And calling people names isn't going to speed up any of those processes. If anything it will make people less inclined to help.

FWIW, I bought the 20E book on Amazon.ca 3 weeks ago (and I was aware at the time of purchase that it may take up to 3 weeks to ship) and I got an email yesterday saying that it was likely going to be another 3 weeks.. So it's not just the Catalyst website orders.

UPDATE -

Street magic Finally arrived on Friday - More than a month after it was available in the stores. No apologies, no "i'm sorry" from catalyst.

Still waiting on the 3 other books.

Might be cause they're still not available in print.

The three other books that do not exist, yes. Those three.

On a positive note, just received shipping confirmation that Running Wild and Dawn of the Artifacts (pre-ordered together) are now in transit...yay!!

*boggles* I got my pre-order for the non-limited like 2 weeks after GenCon...It almost sounds like it sold out in pre-order, and they are trying to get the second printing done...

We have clearly reached a point where rampant and unchecked stabbing is the only thing that can save us.
