Awww, I guess I won't be playing a Heavy Milspec Armor, Nodachi wielding Troll.

Sorry about that Stealth, but I was doing a first come first first serve basis (And I also forgot that you'd only contacted me via PM, though I went back and checked the times just now, and I'm afraid you where the last one.)

I will put you on as first backup and first person to get a slot if I decide to do a bigger number of players.

You could always begin a "revolving door of survivors" policy. Only 4 at any given time, but you try to kill off half every week! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Well, that last part is the plan already (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

That might actually be a good idea, have reserves for when someone dies so they can be replaced.

Well the Pixies may not be main courses but I'm sure there are enough open minded Ghouls out there to give it a taste. After all, it's a new strain so we can't rely on what we knew about the other strain of Ghouls.

I have 6 Karma left over (well actually more) and so far I have 14 dice to roll, so 4 karma for the Force 4 spell, 2 for the 2 dice I don't have. I'll be using Extended Masking on it too so I don't light up like a Christmas tree in astral.

I forget if he's an Ork or an Elf. This cold is playing some funny tricks on me. Back to sleep for me.

Anyone else buying a Tacsoft? I think we may have enough channels.

I got a Rating 3 Tacsoft... still managed to spend 39 BP on gear despite not having a lifestyle or vehicle. Incredible really.

Also Karoline, will all the Ghouls be blind as well? Even the bosses and such? Or will there be surprises?... Will post my character soon.

I'm working on gear right now, I a, playing around with the numbers. The tacsoft will fit the basic background I am finishing up as well.

So far the basic idea is that he is a survivor from the UCAS Center for Disease Control Team sent to Seattle. His job was bodyguarding the Doc's in hostile environments. He's been trained and equipped to drop into Chemical or Biological hazard zones and prepare the area for the civilians.

That sounds like a great concept, gives alot of good reasons that he would have stuff like O-cells.

As for the seeing thing. You aren't really sure. Newly infected do not have the white cataracts of the old ghouls, but no one has exactly had a chance to ask them if they can see or not. What you do know is that they are attracted to loud sounds. While this can be handy for a temporary distraction, it tends to keep them riled up for a while, so isn't the best way to sneak past them.

Current backstory:

Battle Mage hired on to protect a team of researchers in the Barrens. Or rather, their research. Think sorta like Chris Redfield from the first Resident Evil game. He's... well, you better try to geek him first because he's not even going to need Magic to whoop someone.

I'm thinking that this corp had a bit of an inkling as to what was happening with the ghouls and sent in a team. As a runner, my character was hired on for a rather legit role, with supposed backup, in rescuing these researchers and the data. He has very limited disease-coping skills... his suit just has a Chemical Seal and I don't know if that'll protect him or not.

Yeah I'm coating his armour in Ruthenium just in case.

Nearly done but I need to get some sleep.

I don't seem to have any combat spells, don't know how well that will work out...

Here's a rough of my Ork Battle Mage:

[ Spoiler ]

I may have gone overboard.

My spell selection has also changed drastically from my initial drafts. The Detection spells will be sustained and probably cast by a Spirit of Man.

Offensive Mana Barrier zaps dual-natured thingies too, so it's a recent addition. I dropped Mask/Physical Mask for Fix, however. I figure that will sure come in handy in this zombiepocalypse dystopia.

Yes I do have a story for the guy, only the specific gear and spells have changed from my initial concept.

I left enough Karma to learn one home-grown spell.

I've been kicking this around for a while but it's still a bit rough around the edges, it's based loosely off the text of Shape [Material].

Refine (Environmental, Area)

Type:P, Range: LOS(A), Duration: S, DV: (F/2)+3
QUOTE
This spell allows the caster to refine raw materials in the area of effect into a different material that there is also a sample of within range.

This spell does not transform material at the atomic level, it merely moves the atoms around to form a new structure. This is sufficiently complex that a sample of the new structure is required as a template.

The caster may opt to draw unneeded atoms out of an object or leave them behind and draw out the desired atoms to form an amorphous blob of the target material. This tends to increase or decrease the original objects Armour and Structure Ratings to or by the Rating of the new material.

The caster must overcome the target material's OR and the refined material retains the same OR. This is particularly useful for producing the components of Telesma.

This process takes one Initiative Pass per point of Armour of the target material, less F/2 + Net Hits.

Materials refined by the caster remain in their new form when the Spell ends.

For example you could Refine a pile of rust and soot into a blob of high quality steel, assuming you had a small piece of steel to act as a template. Conversely you could transform a steel object into pure rust presuming that you had the tiniest fleck of rust and sufficient environmental oxygen existed.

Sounds like a great spell. Sorry I haven't looked over the character sheets yet, but I've been sick recently and am just getting over it. I should have a chance to at least skim over them and see if they're looking alright or not.

I knwo how that is. I have been down with something since Saturday. I just hope it goes away soon. I am hoping to get gear done tonight, as long as I feel up to it.

Did you catch that from me Karoline? Been sick for 2 weeks myself, got worse these last few days but I seem to be getting better now. Had a 5 second real-life lag for a few days.

Get better!

Don't know, I've been on and off sick since a bit before the school year started. Seems like as soon as I get over one thing there is something else just waiting to be caught. I don't know if that means I have a really good immune system because I keep fighting the stuff off or a really bad one cause I keep catching the stuff in the first place (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

Look on the bright side, we could be sicker! Nah, I think you're just in a high-infection zone, else it'd be a lot worse.

Speaking of... can I play a Drake? Okay so he's immune to HMHVV (all Drakes are, but this new strain can change that). Nah I'm not serious, just seems my character's the most normal one and he's pretty whack.

Clarification: 1 Karma = 5000 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) correct?

Orderlies come with walker mode standard, which actually seems more useful. Supposedly walkers can handle "anything metahuman legs" can manage. Where as hover is always close to the ground...but yeah, taking crazy suggestions on drones as we speak! I have so much money!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

How about Gecko Tips, the Orderly is only a medium drone so it qualifies.

edit

Something larger with a Multi-fuel engine and mounting the Heavy MP laser or the Thunderstruck.
