1 karma = 2500 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif)
Also, I think he had already planned geckotips on the orderly. It really generates this funny image in my head... like something you might see in a spiderman comic, only there are ghouls everywhere. For the bow... lets say 100 arrows max. Not quite as many shots as you might get out of a gun, but it sounds like a decent number as you tend to go through bullets faster than arrows. And welcome to the peanut gallery PBTHHHHT (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Aww I thought he was gonna be like Professor X meets Forge.
Done some (major) tweaking but the bed is calling me. Very excited for this game. |

I am going to have to get a drone just to carry the arrows, 100 Arrows is a lot of space on one's back, but a weapon that does 12p damage silently I think is worth it.

Oh, and sorry I didn't correct you on this earlier but.... QUOTE (http://shadowrun4.com/resources/sr4a/sr4a_changes.pdf) Th e Strength rating on bows has been capped at 8. Arrow cost has been raised to [Rating x 5]. Th e base damage value done by an arrow is the lower of the arrow’s or bow’s rating. So at best you can get a strength 8 rated bow, which would do 10P damage, and would require rating 10 arrows, which would cost 50 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) each. I think the devs got tired of seeing ultra troll with a bow out-preforming assault cannons, and I'd have to say I agree. I admit I don't agree with the special arrows being required part as much, but it does give me a lovely level of control on your arrow refills when you raid a shop (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Hey, if you're still accepting a waitlist, I was thinking about a bio-adept elf with Power Throw 5 or 6 and a Throwing Weapons spec in Grenades. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
I love the characters so far, this is one wacky group. |

Hey there Hobo, you're welcome to get in on the waitlist of revolving survivors, should some of the current ones fall.
For those on the waitlist, I would like you to submit characters like everyone else. That isn't a promise that the character will get to see action, but I don't want to have to hold up the game so that you can work up your character and get it approved, or have the group run man down for an extended time (Until we get to the point where I will be cutting off replacements) Marwynn, your character looks good. Only problem that I see (which I suppose I should have mentioned) is that I am not allowing people to take deeds or quests or things like that to lower the costs of initiation. You may be part of a group and have had the cost reduced that way, but the deeds are just 'I did something.' and so are basically a free reduction, which I'm not fond of. Raven, only oddity I see is that you somehow managed to give yourself 42 free knowledge skills when you should be getting 21. Did I miss something that doubles your starting free knowledge skills? crizh, you have the initiation problem I mentioned above, only about trippled. I'm not even sure how it is possible to get the numbers as low as you have them for initiation costs, but I'll warn you right now that it won't happen. You'll need to go back adjust your initiations. You also have far more spirits bound than you are actually allowed, so you'll need to drop some of your spirits of men (Unless I'm missing the rules on long term binding, does long term binding allow you to surpass the normal limit?). Also, I'm fairly sure I know what you have planned for all those spirits, and I'll warn you right now that it won't work. I'm also a little uncomfortable with all those force 9 foci, but for now I'll allow them, I already had fun things planed for spellcasters and now I just won't feel bad about making use of them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/devil.gif) I am curious where she got them though. It seems impossible that she or any of the other captives would have made them, and there wouldn't have been time to bond with anything found after they escaped. You know, I'm surprised there isn't a requirement that you have to have at least a magic value equal to the force of a foci to bond with it... oh well. If you can provide a good way that she got them I won't mind. Oh wait, I just realized, you can't get force 9. Highest you can get with restricted gear is availability 28, which is a force 7 foci (As most are force * 4 availability). Force 7 sounds much more doable. I know it sounds like I'm picking on you alot crizh, but I'm not doing so intentionally. Also, I do very much like the character's overall concept, just seems like the numbers need some work. CD I've talked to a touch about his character, so looking forward to what all he comes up with other than a chair that belongs in a Spiderman comic. |

Ahh okay, I've modified him a tad from my initial post.
Question again about quickening. Is it 1 Karma per bought hit or per die needed to buy the hits? Say I have 14 dice to throw at a Force 4 spell, but I want to buy the hits and that's only 3 hits. To buy the 4th would it be 1 Karma (for 1 hit) or 2 (for 2 dice, thus giving me 16 to buy 4 hits)? I seem to have confused myself. |

It is per die that you need to roll to get the automatic hits. So if you have a DP of 14 and are trying to cast a Force 4, you'd need to spend 2 karma (Just like you did in your sheet posted above) to get the extra two dice to be able to buy your hits.
Edit: And modification is fine. I figured those were all WIP, just figured I'd lend comments. |

Awesome, thanks. I quickened two spells and did them differently in my head.
Improved Reflexes Force 4: 4 Karma for Force, 4 Karma for extra dispel attempts, 2 Karma for 2 extra dice needed (have 14) Combat Sense Force 4: 4 Karma for Force, 4 Karma dispel, 4 Karma for 4 extra dice needed (have 12 for Detection) I was gonna go for Improved Reaction instead but Combat Sense helps for when you're surprised. Like ghouls breaking out of the walls and whatnot. He uses Extended Masking on these two Quickened Spells and two Foci, plus his Aura. I'm gonna work out the spell selection a bit. I'm not satisfied with Shockwave (Blast AoE Indirect) and Manaball as my only Combat spells. Though I also have Offensive Mana Barrier and Elemental (Blast) Wall. Yeah I want them knocked down if at all possible, eats up one simple action to get back up and saves us from one potential melee attack. Maybe Slaughter Infected would work best. And we're going to need Crank too. Maybe I should drop Mob Mind? Would that even work on them Karoline or would the animal versions be more appropriate? |

Hmmm.
Those are some pretty radical changes. If you are going to change the way Spirit Services work then the whole character is a bust and I'll have to start again from scratch with a different concept. No Ordeals is also hard to work with, it means I'm going to lose at least one Metamagic and I'm pretty keen on all of them. Spirits on Long Term Service do, indeed, not count towards your max Bound Spirits limit. Gear Ratings, I did ask you about that. Availability wise, you said in the initial post that there would be no limit if you took Restricted Gear. QUOTE and restricted gear letting you get any availability you want. I'm at work right now so I don't have much time to work on it. If you are going to change the rules on Bound Spirit Services I'm going to go with some sort of PhysAd HtH ass-kicker type but it would be helpful to know about any other house-rules in advance because it does take a substantial chunk of time to design characters that detailed. |

Ah, then the force 9 foci are fine again. For some reason I'd thought I'd put it at avail 28 on restricted gear, guess I wasn't thinking about infinite availability items.
I could be wrong about what you had planed for your spirits of man. I figured you planned on bringing them in with innate spell (something) and having them sustain it on you until the sun explodes. If that wasn't your plan, or if you were keeping in mind that they'll be highly limited on what force they can manage, then that's fine. I am going to stand fast on the initiation thing though, your prices seem to be about half of what they should be even with the group discount, so you're definitely going to have to rework them. No, you don't need to switch to the animal version of mob mind. |

My costs for Initiation may look wrong, I think I listed the cost for joining a Magical Group as the first cost on that line.
I think it goes 5, 8, 10.... The 5 is the cost of joining a Group. I plan to cast the Spells myself and have the Spirits take over Sustaining with the Spell Sustaining Bound Spirit Service. Then pay a point of Karma to bind them to the Task for a year. Which in many ways is worse than what you suspected I was going to do. There's just no way I can replace that mechanic with Sustaining Foci or Quickening, the cost would be ruinous. I'm a bit unsure whether there is any point to Tink anyway. She doesn't have any Offensive Spells so all that power is just for show really. |

Sorry Karoline,I am using a DamienKnight's Character Gen but it keeps crashing on me so I am having to also do it by hand in some aspects. I just read the wrong line. I'll get it fixed. I should have finished product by Sunday barring no major mishaps IRL.

That's why I don't trust those CGs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Do you have page numbers for those rules crizh? I'm very surprised that there isn't a 'spirit must be force at least equal to that of the spell it is sustaining' sort of clause. I'll have to read over it all and see. Most likely I won't let you get away with having a force 1 spirit sustaining a force 12 spell for a year at the expense of a single karma though. Hehe, I hadn't even noticed the lack of any combat spells, I was expecting massive earth shattering stunballs or something with all the spellcasting power (Though I did notice the focus on manipulation spells) |

Man, I have all of Manaball and Shockwave... I'm thinking of changing it up for Stunball and Slaughter Infected... Stunball for those targets that aren't necessarily infected, and well Slaughter Infected for when they're amongst us and you don't want me to smack everyone with a Force 12 Stunball.
Sustained Offensive Mana Barrier might beat out Elemental Wall though. Hmm... I may have to Fetish-up some of these spells. Ahh the simple joy of looking for ways to kill zombies. |

Does everyone have a chemical seal? Because I am thinking some well placed gas grenades may be needed. DMSO and KE IV should make a nice little crowd control measure.

If Crizh keeps running with the pixie concept, she is unlikely to have chemically sealed armor.

Chem Sealed here. By the way, where can one buy spare air tanks? It only has an hour's worth of air in there.

Chem Sealed here. By the way, where can one buy spare air tanks? It only has an hour's worth of air in there. That's actually a good amount of air (The amount a SCUBA tank holds roughly). Do you mean spare air tanks as in things you can carry around with you or extras stuffed into your armor? If the later I figure you can get an extra tank installed for 2 capacity and 200 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) If you mean the former I figure you can get a tank of air for 100 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) I suppose that 2072 tech has allowed for some improvements in compressing and materials that allow you to get an hour of air in something about half the size of the normal scuba tank. Edit: Keep in mind that none of these tanks will not be self refilling, so you'll need to find more tanks or a compressor. |

Extras I can carry around in my Smart Pack. One or two perhaps if that's not unseemly. Unless we can carry an air compressor with a filter I think carrying this stuff around would be best.
I think my suit's full of mods as it is... will check. Thanks. |
