@Abschalten
I take it the walls of Dexter's apartment are regular drywalls (structure 3)?
Yes; he plans on just shooting both guys (or gals!) dead through the wall (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Shorned Ones on one side, La Alianza on the other, and the Cat's Paw staff in the corner.

You sure know how to throw a party, Abs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

@Mister Juan
Yep, it's shitty drywall (if even that.) If you shoot at them, use Agility+(Weapon). It's not Blind Fire since you can see them. I was going to apply some sort of modifier but the barriers are effectively "transparent" so none applies.

And this is why I think a rating 4 radar cyberware implant is awesome!

Looks like the situation at the cat's paw could get a little complicated since we have characters there who are about half an hour apart. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I'm just trying to get out alive at this point (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also, I haven't really been reading the rest of the posts that much, since my character wasn't there and I wanted to avoid unintentional metagaming. You guys are gonna be at the Cat's Paw too? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I will at least but half an hour later than you.

@Abschalten:

I don't know if the guards want to stop me or something so I only wrote that Sam's going towards the entrance and didn't let him enter yet.

Haha. That bit of writing was done on purpose, what with Stephen getting out and then Sam and Smiley getting there a little while later. I was just giving a glimpse of the future showing the ruckus Stephen's actions caused. Paths may criss-cross a few times like this before everyone gets together. I was just playing with the narrative. I don't expect Stephen to stand around for 30+ minutes while dudes are looking to cap him.

Haha, yeah. It'd be funny to read about Stephen's death before it happened..

EDIT: Of course, I'm sure Stephen could help the Amnesiac more than almost anybody.

I don't think Sam's amnesia can be cured by a mind probe that would be too easy and not noir enough. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
But Stephen would be immensly helpful in getting all that knowledge out of people who could know something about Sam's past.

Btw I'm seriously considering just letting the amnesiac name himself Sam or some other name. I'm sick of calling him the elf, the amnesiac etc all the time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Oh great. I'm already dreading the kind of name my poor injured amnesiac will be stuck with. Probably something like "the mooch" in spanish. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

With as much as you get shot, you may take Carne away from Coatl, and he can be Machete. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

He's like an eight foot tall Danny Trejo.

Sonora can call Combat Mage's character whatever she wishes, but I've got dibs on Dex and Stephen's nicknames.

That's right Mister Juan and Zaius, be afraid. Be very afraid!

Funny, I was thinking of Coatl as a mix between a troll, Danny Trejo, and Marv from Sin City.

Announcement!

I've been waffling back and forth on the Edge issue, mainly pertaining to the poorly written line where it indicates using Edge to reroll dice on tests that do not get a hit. There was recently a thread on Edge in the main Shadowrun section where the issue was sliced and diced, and I've been reading that, rereading the rule in question, and just trying to approach it with an open mind and come to a conclusion.

While I disagree with its inclusion on several grounds, I have to recant and say that the Rules As Written for that particular use of Edge is that, yes, you can use it to reroll failures on a single test. So the part where you roll 20 dice, get 7 hits, and then roll 13 more dice... that's the Rules As Written. Again, I don't like it, but in this campaign I'm trying to stay pretty close to the RAW so that everyone is on equal footing.

My previous ruling on the Edge was that you could only reroll the dice if you got no hits on the test. Since I'm recanting and no longer agree with that interpretation, I can only wonder if that influenced the uses of Edge that have gone on currently during the campaign. In order to put everyone back on equal footing with my new interpretation in mind, I've decided to refresh Edge for everyone, so right now everyone has Edge back at maximum. The only exclusions from this are those currently in combat, which should be Lamhslea, Rystefn, and Mister Juan. Your Edge will refresh at the end of combat. So smoke 'em if you've got 'em. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smokin.gif)

I'll have updates and responses out later on tonight.

Yeah, more than once in this tenement scene I've thought of Marv. Danny Trejo, however, is an excellent addition to the mix and I'm ashamed he didn't come to mind earlier.

Seeing as how Sonora probably came close to killing that spirit on her own, I might just take to calling her Miho instead.

I think it's awesome how my update just now was in reverse chronological order. It was like I was watching Memento or something.
