Hey! Dunkelzhan belived that given time metahumanity could overcome the Horrors. And I've ALWAYS been one to place my trust in the talons of a Great Dragon. :notworthy: :dead:

Actually it would be the other way around... We're so evil that even the Horrors will flee from us.

AH, you hanging around? If you've got the time, we could use the text of Ysrthgrathe's open letter to humanity.

I know about the open letter, it just reinforces my claim that Humans are meaner than the Horrors. They're spawned that way, we actually work hard at it.

I'm working on a Revised Annotated Dunk's Will at the moment, but I might conceivably sit down and write that down at some point.

6 to one, half dozen to the other. If you become what you fight, you've lost.

There are plenty of examples of this. Look at The Punisher or Batman (the Dark Knight version).

Oh, and talking about Batman? I've discovered a truism about Bats... He never loses. Even if he loses, he wins. Batman always wins.

Even if metahumanity loses, we win. Humans always win.

I'm sure there's a clever way to get the horrors that isn't going into space or nuking them.

I'll get back to you all when I think of one. :S

There is. In the 4th world, there was a Theran province in modern-day India. The holy-men of the indiginous people were aware of the magical cycle and the coming Scourge. Instead of hiding or fighting, however, 144 of the holiest men in their culture engaged in a sort of meditation, charging the area with positive, peaceful emotion. The Scourge never came to the province in anywhere near the force it did elsewhere, and the culture survived the Scourge intact, without resorting to the Rites of Protection and Passage (pp. 72-74, The Theran Empire).

So, if you get enough holy-men together with a purpose and appropriate rituals, you can basically create background count that's aspected against Horrors and their magic. Which, in turn, makes Horrors avoid the area.

Kind of makes a go at explaining why Lung (the nearest GD to India) is so keen on spirituality, doesn't it?
