"Do you 'ave a simrig? My own is implanted, so I cannot loan it out, just record what I see and feel."

Although the target might prefer that kind of perspective...

"Does the data Blackie gathered indicate what kind of perspective the good art lover prefers?"

DD pouts slightly, another thing she acquired in her past, while she mulls the rest over, thinking out loud.

"For the dance location, since the man is looking for a touch of ex'ibitionism, I'd propose a dance on a beach, "out in the green", or what passes for it 'ere. Water, wind, sand and sun should do nicely for a demo sim. Wear something thin and light that gets wet and clings, pick a catchy tune, and we're set."

Provided we find a location we can shoot the demo in peace... I wonder if we can rent a bungalow with a private beach for a day and call it expenses?

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer shakes her head. "No, no simrig. I guess I was kind of assuming the doctor would want a voyeur-level view. We can check his profile, or see if we can coax any more details out of Blackie. Maybe he'll be more mellow without all of the 'sports journalism' in here making him twitchy."

She ponders the dance setup. "Hmm, beach scene. Well, I have a white cotton thong that would work for that, but I'll have to think what kind of top to wear. If all else fails, the typical artfully-ripped-up half tee."

"Maybe 'e just needed a cigarette?"

DD checks the data they got about Kate's target, to see what perspective he prefers. Then she nods at Kate.

"Or a thin, short dress. Depends on your dance style. Too bad we don't have a reputation yet, we could make some money with product placement and other forms of advertising."

DD sighs. If they were famous they'd get half their expenses covered by advertising, she's sure of that.

Ah well, we'll get there.

Dancer - The Meet

"I think I'm still leaning towards the thong and top - I want him to see all of my tattoos. If I find a good top, instead of the half-tee, then maybe a dress would be good as something to strip out of. Depends how jaded the good doctor's tastes are - I might need to start out skimpy and work my way down to bare skin to catch his interest."

Despite Dancer's earlier reservations about recording the run, she doesn't seem to be showing any similar hesitation about the dance demo. As unruffled as she sounds, she could be talking about the weather.

Depending on how jaded the doctor is, you might need to go even further to keep his interest.

"That would work too. I was thinking of a white thin dress, which ends up getting wet and clingy."

Maybe some eX for the shooting too, to get a good sim baseline.

Since she just had a dose last night, thinking about eX and similar drugs doesn't cause DD to feel a craving, but she can't help linger a second or two on the thought, rationalising to herself that it would be needed for the demo tape.

Blackie's standing alone outside the sports bar, with a cigarette in hand. He's staring at the ground. He's not used to dealing with people, and this is a very different job than the kind he's used to. Also, if they can't get an advance, then Blackie can't get any psyche. He's still thinking about it. He takes another drag of his cigarette.

He takes his mind back to the job, and slides another AR window into his vision, and starts analyzing Doctor Franklin Yu's saved profile's. Looking for an impression of what the doctor wanted to give them what they need, looking for a story.

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer nods, then takes her trodes out of her purse. She is feeling a bit fidgety. She's can't simply walk out of the meet, but she needs to get more information about Dr. Yu's tastes. She sends a text message out to Blackie.

"Blackie? This is Kate. Would you please forward me the information you picked up on the doc's profile - and any analysis you may have done on it yourself? I really need to know more about what his tastes are, so I can tailor my demo to reel him in. Thanks!"

DD - Day 1, CRUSH! Bar Meeting

DD mulls what data she has over, pouting slightly and absentmindedly chewing on her lower lip.

"Usually, the spectator watches, and 'as the tactile feed from the performer... "

Suddenly, the young woman blink, then shakes her head.

"Mince alors! Talk about tunnel vision - we'll simply do a multi-pov demo, where Yu can pick 'is preferred option! Why limit ourselves? Well, more than what our lack of an external simrig limits us to."

DD grins at Kate.

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer returns DD's grin with a wry smile. "Well, the lack of a simrig for me kind of does limit us to one pov, though, doesn't it? Unless we get that advance, and I can get one. I pinged Blackie, so hopefully we'll have a bit more information to work with soon."

DD nods.

Filtered through his dark view of the world, of course. Hm... maybe we could do a "Blackie's cut special edition"? His angst and rage at the system distilled into a commentary, and laid over the regular clip?

The blonde woman looks out of the window, trying to catch a glimpse of Blackie.

"Let's 'ope he finishes 'is cigarette quickly, and comes back inside."

[Sir_Psycho]

Blackie walks back in casually around the empty tables, eyes averted from the competing Urban Brawl and Baseball screens, and pulls up a place in the booth.

"Our man really is interested in performance art. Circus tricks and contortion, avante-garde dance and the like. I just thought I'd let you two know before you got too carried away. He appreciates the 'human form, anatomy and phsiology', so maybe you should look at this from a different angle? Of course if you feel the need for the 'white cotton thong' and 'typical artfully ripped up half tee' or something 'wet and clingy', I'll trust in your own judgement and scrutiny"

He pauses for a moment and shrugs "It's the cyber-ears. an edge in this business, even when you go out for a smoke. I only caught a bit though, through the white noise generator."

"Anyway, DD, if you're puzzled for what exactly you want to bait the doctor with, why don't one of us have a snoop and perhaps a little hack of his profile, and find out who he rates highly, and draw a picture from there?"

Blackie finally slumps back in his seat and mutters "we really are going to spend the whole day in this bar."

"No, lets just confirm our understanding of what needs to be done,

Myself: Negotiate with the client and secure an advance. I'll work with DD to secure a set dummy vials, and preload them with decoy blood. I'll also do an in depth review of astral security.

DD: Work with myself on the procurement task, and support with Kate on the interloping of the doctor Yu and Harris. Carroway will support with any magical assistance required. If you have time, support Blackie on the data gathering exercise

Kate: Work with DD on YU, and work with Carroway to slip into Paul Harris' social circle. DD will provide any support required.

Carroway: Support the social engineering efforts of DD and Kate. Lead the astral investigation of the complex. Support Blackie's investigation into the physical security.

Blackie: Lead an investigation into the physical security of the complex by physical and electornic survelliance and data gathering, with the support of Carroway, myself and DD as required.

Deliverables:

Myself: Decoy vial, and advance

DD: Not sure you are principally responsible for making anything happen - but you certainly can support making everything happen!

Kate: Full intelligence report from Doctors Yu and Harris on the compound, extra credit if you can gain legitimate access credentials.

Carroway: Full astral survelliance report of the site

Blackie: Full report on the physical security of the site.

Is that it guys? If so, lets get cracking.

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer barely contains herself from shooting Blackie an annoyed look. He throws out an obvious euphemism, then takes this long to clarify that he meant it literally?

"DD, why don't you brief me after you've checked out the doc's profile, and we'll go from there? I trust you not to omit anything important."

She raises one of her eyebrows at Dagda's brusque summary. Some impatient people on this team when it comes to planning. Hopefully it won't lead to sloppiness during the run.

"So we're having me work with Carroway on the Harris angle now, too? I don't mind if it takes some of the load off of DD. It will change some things, though. I can't approach them both separately, it would be too suspicious. I'll have to work the couple with Carroway, then let them hook me up with Dr. Yu when I let it slip that I'm an aspiring dancer."

She turns back to DD.

"Once you've gotten more information on our targets, ping me and we can work on how Carroway and I can approach them. While I'm waiting for that, I'll apply for a few dancing jobs, ones I am likeliest to be rejected at, to start building my cover story."

DD ponders the russian's statements, frowning slightly. On one hand, it'd not be bad if she'd not have to do the "close interpersonal networking", to use some corps-speak. On the other hand, that might lead to some troubles.

"I do not know if one can reach Yu through 'arris. The two might not be close friends - or 'arris might not be one to introduce 'is swinger acquaintances to 'is colleagues from work. And even if that is the case, it might take too long for 'arris to introduce you to Yu."

Too long for the russian's patience. Working people takes time. Not to mention some of that will make for good footage.

"As for me, it's mainly data gathering. That should not tax me overly. Of course, editing the footage after the run will be a lot of work, but we're not at that stage yet."

Carroway – Day 1, CRUSH! Bar

“I’ll be honest with you I’m probably not the best person to check the astral security. I’ve only got a base skill in checking auras amongst other things. I could check it but I might miss something on the astral. The social networking should be fine though, need a link to them and then I should be able to do what is necessary with my accomplice.�

He looks around at the rest of the group and smiles.

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer nods at DD, picking up the subtext of her message fairly easily.

"And time... is at a premium for us. So I guess it'll be you and Carroway on Harris, and me on Doctor Yu. I'll check out more of the local dance scene here, to get a good baseline to work with, while you're researching his more specific tastes. We want something that will get his attention without being too suspiciously tailored just for him. Again, I'll leave that up to you, although I may have some ideas when we get back together."

She returns Carroway's smile, wishing wistfully that she could be as forthcoming about her own limitations. But social networking is subtle and time-consuming compared to hacking building plans, at least two of her teammates are on the prudish side as far as her dancing abilities are concerned, and if the run goes right, her more lethal skills won't be required at all. All in all, she is feeling a bit insecure at the moment. Fortunately, her adept abilities keep that from showing on her face.

DD nods at Kate.

A collection of his downloads, and possibly his purchases at some site, then run through some searches for common themes should do the job.

"Sounds good, provided you all agree."

DD looks at the russian, Blackie and Carroway.

"Okay, sounds good team. I just want to be explict so nothing falls through the cracks. If I'm taking the astral security stakeout, do you want to take the decoy vial run Carroway? Or do you just want to collobrate on that."

"I should be fine with the vial run. Just need to get some blood, and help DD pick up some decoy vials."

DD nods.

"We should not 'ave much of a problem getting a vial or two through a fake adress. I'll see if I can get better information about the labels on them."

Probably have to do some hacking, if their ads don't have enough details, but then, we'll need to check their security anyway... or go the other route, and check the most likely suppliers of the labels...

"And we'll need to get into contact with the 'arris couple. Do you 'ave any ideas about that already?"

DD grins at Carroway.

Smiling Carroway looks over at DD,

"I think the easiest thing would be to change our profiles slightly and just hook up with them over the social networking sites. Then after we get them intrested with your great assets just meet up and then we can extract information fairly easily."

"My 'great assets'? I do 'ope you mean this."

DD laughs, and tips her left index finger on her forehead.

If he's blind, maybe. And he isn't.

"But yes, I'll look the profiles over, and then check what we should change, probably fake some datatrail as well."

Like back in high school, "optimising" profiles.

"So, anything else?"

Dagda summons his car via his commlink then says "I think we all know where we are at, and the timeline so lets get cracking. I have no doubt that we will need to reshape the plan as we go along, so try to be available via the 'trix as much as possible so we can re-organise on the fly."

Dagda pays the bill then slides out of the booth, preparing to leave

"Its been good to meet you. Lets hit the road and try and get some runs on the board."

DD nods, appreciating that someone else pays the bill, then turns to Carroway and Kate.

"I'll check out those profiles, then get back to you. Want to meet this evening and go over it?"

Dancer - The Meet

Dancer concurs with DD. "That sounds great. In the meantime, I'll start checking out what the local dance scene is like out there."

"And I have my previous unproductive, desperate search for such employment in Seattle to draw on," she thinks. "At least this time I'm not looking for a job, but just getting a feel for the styles, the attitude here."
