RandomJoe is looking for help.
RandomJoe (wrtitten in platform independent Python) consists of 3 Features:

- a random "Joe" (Average Person) generator
Gives age, race, job, looks, income, family, attribues, language, culture, hobbies, lifestyle and many more
features more than 200 jobs, hundres of names, 8 cultures complete with religions and languages
uses pseudo sophisticated gaussian models to link the various attributes to make believable characters

- a dice roller
including edge and extended tests

- a lookup programme (very early stage)
looks up things in gear tables and gives you the stats

At the moment, the programme is designed for a german distribution of people and gives german output. I want to include an american distribution and translate all the stuff into English.
The programme itself is in alpha stage (though useable) and may hit beta in the next month or two.

I am looking for:

- translaters (especially translating all the job descriptions might be tricky)
- contributers (gear lists need some more descriptions, additional files, and so on)
- general ideas what to add

From German to English.

By the way, the project is fully open source, so if anybody wants to look at the code (which was written in "English"), pass me a line.

I'd like to take a look at the source, if convenient.

Randomjoe 0.5 alpha is out

adding: CombatJoe, which generates Combat NPCs out of templates. e-level Ganger and street cop included at the moment. CombatJoe uses English templates at the moment.

I am still interested in porting this thing to American culture and English language. The main problem are the about 200 Job descrptions that need some very good German-English translator.

Windows

Linux (needs Python 2.4 and higher, wxPython 2.6 and higher)

Could you post a .txt with all the terms you want translated? I've got some free time right now and haven't done something for SR for too long now. :)
