On a whim not too long ago i went to youtube to see if anybody posted any video game stuff. in particular i was looking for the songs from games I remember and adored. Here are a few of these songs. All beautiful. Enjoy, and remember a part of your childhood long since gone.

wild arms begining
love the guitar and the whistling.
vandal hearts begining
sweet voice
vandal hearts ending
sweet voice
suikoden ending ya have to sit through the end of the the game first before the song, but it's all good. love the biographies

FF6 opera celes! my dear celes

I remember back when I was in elementary school how me and a friend put Ninja Gaiden 2 into sound test mode and used a tape recorder to record our favorite music from that game.

i still kick my self for not buying wild arms, vandal hearts, and suikoden when i had the chance. Arms and suikoden i coulda bought at a discount around 15 bucks each way back when.

Still as i sit and listen to these songs over and over again, while enjoying a frosty cold one, i realised that RPG's of today just don't have the songs or the story of ones days past. I don't know, maybe ya'll have played some newer ones that has the all encompassing effect of RPGs like these ones. If so then maybe you can recommend some for my RPG palate.

It was still down the next day, and then I forgot about it. Let's see.

Wild Arms is available. I'm not finding either of the others, though.

just a few more. breath of fire had me nostalgic for some more i remembered

Alan and Cerl beautiful. I feel Cerls pain, cast out becuase we were different. Nerver to know that hot cheerlearder cause she is alwasy after the cool guys and not us poo bums. I feel your pain Cerl!

acraiser might be the first game I played when i got snes. remember listening this song over and over agin so beautiful

king arthur's world openign was awesome. Takes me back to summer time, and the grass smell, how I was so innocent and carefree.

where has the time gone?! I taost my beer to all these songs. Growing as a nerd, you don't get the babes. And now hen pecked. So depressing. I have a presentation tomorrow, i just down in the umpf to do anthing tonight. I keep playing these songs over and over again. Lost youth, wanting to go back , yet knowing you are a total dork in those times. a catch 22. C;mon guys chug one for old times sake! and all the roads not taken......or denied....and perhaps....like me...shed a tear or two...

I can always tell if a video game song was composed in Japan because they tend to share stylistic elements.

And because the big companies there shared a pool of about 10-20 composers, back in the 80s.

It seems likely. Or at least friendly riffing ala between Klaus Badelt & Hanz Zimmer.
I know that Nobuo Uematsu of Final Fantasy fame, at least, has worked with everybody. I think a lot of the guys who ended up composing for Metal Gear Solid started off in different companies in the earlier era as well.

just saw that the link to the end of vandal hearts ain't there no more. found a long version, beautiful as always, enjoy.

Picture a hottie singing only to you, graceful fluid movements, sultry eyes, full lips, perhaps in a room with floor to ceiling windows opened up and wind fluttering in the long white drapes. you are in a sparse room save for the chair you sit in to hear her melody, one of the windows behind her you see an expanse of water, perhaps an ocean, its cool sea breeze wafting in the room carrying with it the sweet smell of her perfume mixed with her own heady smell...if only...

A classic:

Though it is the original and there is more to it than just what is in the game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smokin.gif)
