I've got a simple and relatively easy challenge for you guys:

For this challenge you will be building a Special Forces NPC with unlimited resources and availability up to 40F...However to complete this challenge you will have to spend the least amount of nuyen while still being able to be combat, recon, and stealth effective (Defined as being able to avoid Average level Detection Devices and defeating Prof Rating 3+ NPC's).

Here are the rules for characters and costs.

Each character starts off with 4 in all 8 Attributes (3 Mag/Res if applicable) and 2 in Edge. Skills will start off at Rating 1. Pos/Neg Qualities will be allowed, however your limitation is max of 35 on each side. To build up from those ratings you will pay as if improving abilities/skills via karma. At the end of creation total the amount of karma you have spent and multiply it by 5,000. This is your total characters nuyen cost. (For gear, simply do the same as normal character generation, 1KP:5,000 nuyen)

If I see some damn interesting characters, I may start up a game here using them :).

Ork/Dwarf>5 karma
Elf/Troll>10 karma

does your list of karma come with racial stat mods? i.e. If I pay 10 karma to get trolls, does my body go to 8 and my charisma go to 3?

My first impression is that karma is too expensive, but I'll put out the following:

Ork

BOD 7 (+3)
AGL 4(8)
REA 4(9)
STR 6
CHA 4 (or should this be 3?)
INT 4
LOG 4 (or should this be 3?)
WIL 4

Edge 2
Essence .875
Init Passes 3

Skills
Athletics Group 2
Outdoor Group 2

Automatics 4 Assault Rifle
Etiquette 2 Military
Infiltration 4 Rural
Leadership 2 Military
Perception 4 Visual
Throwing Weapons 1 Grenades

Totals 5 ork + 138 skills

bioWare
Platelet Factoriy 0.2 25000
Pathogen Def -3 0.3 30000
Digestive Expansion 0.5 20000
Enhanced Artic 0.3 40000
Sleep Regulator 0.15 10000
muscle toner 4 0.8 32000
Synaptic-2 1 160000

cyberware
Reaction Enh -3 0.9 30000
Skillwires -4 0.8 8000
Olfactory Booster -6 0.2 6000
flare comp 0.1 750
TI bone lacing 1.5 40000

skillsofts
first aid -4 12000
unarmed -4 12000
heavy weapons -4 12000
demolitions -4 12000

Total Y cost for ware + skillsofts: 449,750

Total karma + Y cost: 1,164,750 (no gear)

There are plenty of places to shave costs off. For example, more skills (outdoors group) can be farmed off to the skillwires. You can drop the pathogen Defense and digestive expansion and so on.

[edit]
whoops, didn't notice the skills start at 1 thing, so cost goes down a bit.
