Three years. Three years she's been awith out him. It was sudden, as these thing normally are. But no one can understand what she feels. He didn't just die, he was taken. Forced away from her from that horrible being. And to make it worse, they thought they'd beaten it.
She wouldn't go back to her life before. The job, the people, their home. It all just faded. All she had of him was their son, Light. And it was all she wanted. But the fates would have something in store. An unexpected friend would make himself known to her. Come to her in her dreams bearing a message: "He can be found Grace, he can be saved." He told her a sign would come for her. So, she waited. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seemed life in Seattle just moved on. Loomis Jekylin's funeral was widely known. A man who had his face in the media as much as him couldn't just disappear without some sort of frenzy. But, despite how big of news it was, it passed just as quickly as anything else. He was yesterdays news to everyone else, except them. There were a few who knew him well enough to remember him. These people had been summoned. Grog had just woke up from a nap. What a strange dream. He thought. Sitka had come to him, spoke with him. He knew it was all a dream, but it was so real. He could feel Sitka when he touched his arm, he could smell the flowers. He even felt the heat from the fire in his stove. Sitka told him to find Grace. Yeah, like that'll be easy. He hadn't even spoken to her since Jekyll's death. Here goes nothin. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grace was sitting at her kitchen table. She enjoyed living a normal life. As normal as she could. Just sitting there, looking at a news paper, sipping coffee. Just trying to act normal. It was harder than it looked. Light inturpted her thoughts with a loud giggle. He was grabbing onto Cinders face. It was strange that the image of an infant child hugging an adult Hell Hound wasn't at all a concern. But hey, they'd had the damn dog since it was a pup, and it never hurt a fly, even when it was told to. Grace smiled. What happiness she got out of her life came from these two. They were fun to watch. The way they interacted. It was as if they completely understood everything the other was thinking. It was eerie. Grace was watching her son, smiling when she heard a noise that ran her blood cold. A sound she never expected to hear since she'd been hiding. Someone was knocking at her door. |

Crog takes a long pull from the bottle of.... whatever the hell it was he was drinking, as he looked blankly at the stripped down XM307 on his workbench.
I need to quit drinking if I keep having dreams like that. I would say you need to quit drinking period. said Fo-Lung Yeah, well, that may be so, but it's besides the point. First things first find grace, and that in it's self is gonna be a bitch, we'll have to hit the old hotspots and see what we can dig up. After finishing his bottle, he throws his katana in its "outdoor" case, jumps on his bike and heads out. |

Crog
The night air rushes through Crog as his bike winds down the Seattle streets. This is what it was to feel alive. He remembered hitting these streets with Dreg. That seemed like so long ago. It appeared they were working for the same guy, event though Dreg probably hadn't gotten the big picture yet. [ Spoiler ]

Crog weaved his way through the streets on his way to matchsticks, he figured matchsticks would be the best place to start his search, and if that failed he'd hit up a few other places that would be sure to point him in the right direction.
