On a related note, check out the comic book Chew published by Image comics. It's a near-future scenario where a fake bird-flu scare resulted in the FDA outlawing poultry. There's a thriving black market for chicken, turkey etc. and the FDA has police powers surpassing that of the FBI. The protagonist is a cibopath (he receives psychic impressions from what he eats... corpses) and his partner has a half-cyborg face; USB style datajack cord included. |
