I just had a flash of inspiration: Combine the fun of Shadowrun with the hilarity of Mystery Science Theater 3000! How about having a forum or instant message based Shadowrun game, and in addition to the players and GM, there are a couple of "commentators" who do not take part in the game, but merely observe and make sarcastic remarks about the actions of the players and NPCs? It would have no actual effect on gameplay, but would be funny as hell.

But Tom Servo was long ago taken away by Jawas (look very closely at the droid they Jawas are holding in the Troops film).

We already do this in our tabletop games. Players and spectators alike.

My favorite instance involved good planning from a player...

The party is huddled, coming up with plans to do the run. After one particular plan is proposed, the aforementioned player pulls out a tape player, and plays out an excerpt from an episode of 'Pinky and the Brain':

"Yes! Brilliant plan Pinky!... But no, wait... What if we want a plan that works?
