Egyptian? This kind of thing happens all over the world. There is even a well-hidden (mostly by us being high-and-mighty about it) slave trade across Canada. I've met someone who was almost taken in by it, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This happens in Mexico and Central America from time to time. I remember hearing about a guy who got caught trying to snatch a girl in Guatemala and they beat the crap out of him, threw him into a pickup truck to drive him to the police station, and beat the crap out of him during the trip, too.

In Mexico, I heard a story a couple of years ago about a town where the people forced their way into a small garrison where some teens suspected of involvement with cartels were being held....the dragged the guys out, locked them in a truck, and set the truck on fire.

I'm sure the organlegging stuff happens, too. After all, once the slaves are used up in other areas, or try to break free, you need to have some way to dispose of them if other incentives fail. (and if they kill the family, they might be able to make further use of the bodies then as a display)

1 Cartel down but as bad as things are you know that 2 or 3 just filled in. They have left them go for so long it will take a lot of time and money from both sides of the fence to dig them out.

Well, the Cartel splintered before hand, and one of those splinters is filling the vacuum somewhat. It was the smallest cartel that got decent area coverage on the Mexican map, so it's not a decisive victory, by any stretch.

Oh yea this is something they are going to have to keep working on and the sad part is we will see lots of lives lost. Was not till one of the groups took that boater along the boarder that really made the U.S. stop and start to look at what was going on. They have started cracking down on group here like MS 13 but that is only a start. there are to many people with lots of pull around here who are making lots of money. This country is all about making money.

I would like to say that there are militant groups in every country in the world. You just can not please all the people all the time, Which means that there will always organized crime out giving the people what was banned by the govt. i.e. Booze, Drugs, Women, and even Blue Jeans.

Well lets see Organized crime has a militant group in it as enforcers, the booze drugs women are among many things that these group make money on which are only just a piece of the pie. Crime is crime, when it goes against a law of a country. During prohibition the Italian mobsters gain much of the power they have used over that last 100 years, in fact the booze is what put them on top because there was a lot of money to make. The gangs of today make much of their money from drugs and much of that money finds it way in militant groups all over the world, I read not long ago that one of the Mexican gangs had ties to Australian group. I am not saying anything that has not been researched Crime happens everywhere, was not to long ago that a human trafficking group was shut down that was in Buf up thru Canada to Europe. Is there something else you think I have missed? Just because you would like to hope life is all nice and beautiful does not make it true.

FLQ, Alberta, and Nutbars in BC. There's a few in Northern Ontario as well, but not many.

In many places, especially southern US and the middle east, women selling pleasure is a crime. In Cuba, it's been a crime to accept anything more then what you are paid for your services, be that tips at a restaurant, or free will clothing, for a long time. "Unjust" laws are only unjust if someone has the power to stand up and say they are, and can back it up. Most nations across history have passed "unjust" laws to keep the common people down, and they are allowed to pass freely for a time. If you disagree, look at the Jim Crow Laws of the US in the 50's and 60's, and earlier.

Laws are laws you can not apply your morels to another country and say it is unjust. Your country has different customs, you live a different way. You do not have to like it nor do you have to abide by it as long as you are not in that country. When there if you go against that unjust law than you become a criminal, I had friends when I was in high school who went to the USSR and gave away the extra Jeans they had in their suitcases, even though it was against the law had they been caught who knows what would have happen. Many laws here in the U.S. I do not like but if I get caught smoking a joint than I go to jail, if I have a high level of alcohol than I can not drive a car, if I have a gun with out the right paper work I can go to jail. You can try to change said rules but until they are changed than you you are a criminal if you break it. As long as these laws are in place than you will find an underground along the way who with use this to make money.
