We're not expected to be strictly sober for it just 'cause it's all hoity-toity and official this year, are we?
Uhm...hypothetically. |

It's only official because we wanted to be able to have a dedicated space without having to pay through the nose tor reserve space at one of the bars. It also helps "advertise" this beyond just the forums a little bit, so it could be cool to get new blood and more fans involved.
My suggestion: grab dinner before hand, maybe some drinks. Or lots of drinks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Then come, have fun. Don't be shy. We're working out the details, but I want to do some little games or something, like Trivia Contests, or "Tell your funniest Shadowrun story in 2 minutes or less", or whatever. We'll have some prizes on hand to give away. Hopefully it'll be cool. Then, to the Claddagh for more drinking and debauchery. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Not sure when my Train arrives in Indy. If it's on time, I'll be there.

Gen Con's giving us a hard time about the event, so it's not currently open yet. Stay tuned as we try and work it out.

Just to post a quick update...
I tried registering this as an official CGL event initially. GC has a thing set up for.. Umm.. Fan gatherings, I guess on Wednesday night. But, they're only for fan get together, and not for official company events. And unfortunately getting information and getting replies back from our contact at Gen Con is like pulling teeth, so it's taken a while to figure out how to fix this. And whether or not we'll be able to fix it. *sigh* Anyway, I've resubmitted the event as a Dumpshock.com event, since really that's what it is and always has been anyway. It's pending approval still though, so no clue what will happen. If it goes through, awesome. if not, we can fall back on the usual Claddagh get together. Bull |

If I get a ride, I can be there sometime after midnight.
Should have taken a train a day early and later, dealt with the extra two days... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) |

Friendly, friends- any chance of another late-nite SR:CCG impromptu event?
It was awesome fun a few years ago! |

I also set off metal detectors naked, so can't fly. Well, you probably can. It's just an extra hassle. My mom's got her own low-tech cyberleg thing goin' on, but it's not like it keeps her off of planes or anything. QUOTE I mean, hell, I'm one of those Commie Socialist Bastards from Canada. I can't be trusted! That part I won't disagree with. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) |

Great...Meet-and-greet cons! Not long ago there was Comic-Con in San Diego, the big con everyone is talking about. On occassion, I attended nearest fan cons myself and what could be better for online chat buddies to meet each other IRL (preferably in public and bring along friends or family along). Was the SR meet held in Ohio or Canada? I read two members' locations, but how about Utah (Salt Lake City) which is great in the summer time and has a large sports arena: the EnergySolutions Arena (formerly the Delta Center) is a suggestion.

This one is specific to Gencon, in Indianapolis in 3 weeks.

Next month! I won't be able to attend there, but not to worry, conventions similar to Gencon are everywhere, you gotta know where to find them. True, there are, but not like GenCon I dont think, at over 45,000 registered attendees this year and counting! Wondering if there are any updates on this meet also, being 2 weeks away! |

Ok, sorry about that gang. Submitting this ass an event didn't exactly work out the way I'd hoped, so we didn't get an actual registered event.
However, Gen Con does have Union Station open for meet ups and open gaming. So why don't we plan on that. It's more limited than what we were hoping to do, but it gives us an open area to meet up, chat, talk Shadowrun, whatever. The Claddagh is right around the corner from Union Station, so folks can head over there for drinks and food after, or hang out at Union Station and game (I know a couple folks were talking pick up games). We'll say from 7 to 9 PM, or whenever folks want to head to the Claddagh. I'll restart a fresh thread so folks can make new plans. |
