Flood control of 30 seconds really isn't all that necessary, given the culture of the board. And it tends to get in the way if you spend a long time writing a couple posts and then try and post them at the same time. Not a big deal at all, but dropping it to 15 seconds would be kind of nice.

Also, somewhat more significantly, would be nice if previewing a post didn't count against flood control. That can actually be pretty annoying.

And the SEARCH!

ARGH! Takes ten minutes to find things that could just take five!

See, that's actually a serious concern whereas mine really weren't.

Actually, I've found the flood control to be rather annoying quite a few times myself, whereas I've never had any problems with the Search function.

It's the flood control on the search that bothers me. I either get far too many results right off or none at all. Hit back, add one word, search again, error (flood control), back, one-one thousand... two one thousand... three...

It'd be nice if there was a switch that killed Flood Control (or came close to it; maybe 5 seconds) for people after they've hit X amount of posts.

Flood control is rather necessary for searches, given the database load it generates.

As to regular flood control, I bump into it occasionally, but I don't think it's too horribly. I'm not doing odd things like writing multiple posts in advance, though. :)

I think it would be less annoying, too, if the Search function didn't break down nine times out of ten when I try using it. :)

What kind of errors are you getting with the search function? I haven't seen anyone mention them, previously.

The only two errors I get are the "no result" error (which is a waste of time/and page) and the "three letter term" error. I can search the entire forum for every single post by poster "Adam." But doing so with "SoE" and poster "Adam" gives me an error!? This is Shadowrun! How many three letter terms do we have now? SoE, RPG, AVS, STR, BOD, QUI, Tir, OOP, IC, OoC, CP, PPC, CAS, CFS, LA, SR1, SR2, SR3, IE, BBB, R3, M&M, CC, FoF, Mac, PC, IJM, AGS, NIJ, VCR, MbW, DbW, FbW, DOA, DNA, SoA.
