This idea is an original of a Cyberpunk setting, a non Shadowrun setting that is.
The setting is cities is Victoria and Vancouver sprawl. Victoria is were the Rich and well off live in, and Vancouver is the sprawl. I know that Cyberpunk is old hat when comes to Sci Fi now days, This setting does have the Mega Corps in power but this future must reflect the fact that USA is no longer the great power that is and more like featured in the Robocop TV series, LW |

It deserves some explanations as to what happened to the USA.
Breakdown of law and order leading to economic collapse? Fracturing perhaps, with maybe some parts joining Canada? If so, would some, perhaps all of the Puget Sound region have joined up with Canada, expanding the area of operations around Vancouver? |

Well Puget and that area original with BC were once one so it will be again, But it's rare in these settings that Canada and there Dollar becomes very strong.
The Corps are power until themselves and the Natives American has combined with hippies to become Urban Tribals like in Cybergeneration RPG, LW |

Agreed, and even those "sentences" are pretty mangled. So far we know Lwhitehead wants to tell a story where "is cities is Victoria" "were the Rich and well off live in" with a nod to "the Robocop TV series" and resistance against "Canada and there Dollar".
Lwhitehead@: When you start a forum thread, you are telling us, "I have something worthwhile to say". So far 1071 people have come to listen to you. When they get here, they find that you want them to tell the story. Well, that's just not going to happen, ever. Detect Thoughts doesn't have unlimited range: if you want constructive criticism on your proposal, you need to make 99% of the collective effort yourself. If you've already done that, then there's nothing to see here and you should abandon the thread. |

I have to agree.
It may be that English is not your first language, and that's fine. In that case your English is far superior to my <insert language here>, so good effort, and although it makes it hard to understand and parse what you are saying sometimes, that's ok. But I agree with Bodak and JanessaVR - you've thrown out a very brief sentence, with no real meat on the bone, and expected something from the community. Asking a rules query that's brief is fine - the answer is likely to be equally brief. Or asking for an opinion on a thing... but don't expect people to write your back story for you, or spend time doing this when there's no reward for them. If you're not getting the response you're after, maybe you need to put some more information in your post, or add some more detail, context or background - maybe then you will inspire someone to make a comment, that in turn gets someone else involved... |

Before diving into world of creation, check out one of the dozen or so games like that already out there.
There's a ton on Drivethru. Original Cyberpunk 2020 is still a great resource for the genre. Interface 2.0 is another great foundation for the genre and in my opinion the spiritual successor to CP2020. Technoir, Gurps and Ex Machina are all good settings for ideas. A stripped down version of Eclipse Phase or even the Cypher System would make a good mechanical base as well. |

Some elements of CP2020 have been directly imported to our version of Shadowrun - Alt Cunningham, Johnny Silverhand, Morgan Blackhand, Rache Bartmoss, and Spider Murphy are all known NPCs, and Arasaka replaced MCT outright. |

Bartmoss's Guide to the Net is solid gold.
