Hey folks, I'm scheduling my February GMing at the moment for the new SR4 Missions campaign. Full information on the campaign is on the srrpg.com web site and a guide to 'running in Denver will be in the January issue of Commando Quarterly on the commandohq.com web site REAL SOON NOW. ™

With that in mind, here's what I've got slated at the moment:

On Saturday, February 4th, at Noon, I'll be running:
SRM02-01 Parliament of Thieves
A simple smuggling job. Get the goods from the Koshari. Deliver it to the Mafia. Avoid the Yakuza, the Triads, the UCAS border patrol, and the Zone Defense Force. Just another day in the Front Range Free Zone.

At:
Warzone Matrix
4704 Rocky River Dr
Cleveland, OH 44135
(216) 433-1316

The weekend of 2/11, I will be in Lansing, Michigan, GMing for C.A.R.P.. More information is available on their Warhorn site.

On Saturday, February 25th at BashCon XXI I'll be running:
10AM: SRM02-01 Parliament of Thieves (See Blurb Above)
2PM: SRM02-02 Best Served Cold
Revenge, corporate interference and dealings with the mafia, it's all part of the day to day life of shadowrunners. When a high-ranking executive gets involuntarily extracted though, it's time for a team of deniable assets to bring him back.
6PM: SRM02-01 Parliament of Thieves (See Blurb Above)

The weekend of 2/24-6, another GM will be at MegaCon. He'll be running both SRM02-01 and SRM02-02, but I'm not sure about dates and times. (Check with the convention. If I hear specifics back, I'll update this posting.)

Please, if you're running a public SR4 Missions game, post it in this thread.

On Saturday, 4/22 at noon, I'll be running
SRM02-03: The Grab
The shadows can be a dirty place to make a living, but a runner's got to make end's meet somehow. When opportunity calls, you answer. But when answering that call involves extracting an eleven-year-old girl as part of an elaborate and bizarre extortion scheme, the shadows can get much dirtier... and some stains can never be washed out.

That'll be at:
Warzone Matrix
4704 Rocky River Dr
Cleveland, OH 44135
(216) 433-1316

This is part of theCleveland Gamer's Game Day. That's a totally free event, running from Noon to Midnight. I'll also be running SRM02-01 and SRM02-02 later in the day. Hit the Game Day web site to sign up!

On Saturday, May 27th, I'll be running:

SRM02-04 Thrash the Body Electric
The fewer strings attached to a job, the better. At least that's what you've been telling yourself. Now you'll find out if having the power in your hands will be everything you expected, or just a shortcut to electrocution.

Greetings,

First, thank you very much to the FanPro guys at GenCon for running the Shadowrun Missions games. Although I was able to play in only two (including the Interactive), I had a blast.

Second, myself and my friend Larry (Victor) would love to play in more games. However, being that we're in the Boston area, we haven't found anyone who will run SR Missions in this area.

I would love it there were a way to go through the rest of the SR Missions. Heck, we'd probably be able to travel through most of New England and New York to attend a willing GM's game. Once I play through them, I'd even be willing to run them in the Boston area for other willing shadowrunners as part of the SRM campaign.

Any takers?

actually, the slot will run 9:30am to 1:30pm. (sorry i forgot to give you the times, john!)

this will be the first SRM event that our monthly game day group is offering, and we are looking forward to more! (in the past, we have offered Living Greyhawk events pretty much exclusively, but are adding some new campaigns to help broaden our player base)

if you want more info on our game days, you can visit our online group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/drow-rpga ... this is the site that announces what we are offering at our various game days, as well as allowing members to sign up for tables before the game day itself.

so if you're near the la crosse area, stop over to the site and sign up to play some SRM!!!

You can feel free to delete this post after you read it. I just wanted to say I don't particularly like the way that google calender is set up and I think that the information is more easily accessuible in forum post form. I hope that we're not switching from one to the other, and hoping that it is more a a rudundancy thing and that the info will be posted in both manners. I'm just posting cause I noticed the august 26 running at warzone matrix isn't in forum post form.

For the time being, I do plan to keep the information in both places. As a heads up on the google site, try clicking the link that says "Agenda" on the top right corner. I found that view to be a lot more effective, but I don't see a good way to link directly to that format.

As far as the 8/26 game at Warzone goes -- I hadn't posted it here yet mostly 'cuz I'm not sure what adventure I'll be running yet. ;)

I'll second that. I only got to play Parliament of Thieves (I was Nox of the Nix and Nox sammy twins for those in the know), but both Karl (Nix) and I decided to try and get in to the only other SRM game we could find (unsuccessfully but hey, can't win em all)

Talk about coincidences. I am down in Norfolk, Ma (down by the Stadium), and have also been looking for anyplace that's going to run SRM. I am in a weekly 3rd ed. game, but would love to play a couple in addition.

One table of each of the 8 available SR4 Missions will be run at DragonCon.

Here's the summary in a nutshell:
SRM02-01 - Parliament of Thieves Friday 6pm
SRM02-02 - Best Served Cold Saturday 9am
SRM02-03 - The Grab Saturday 1pm
SRM02-04 - Thrash the Body Electric Saturday 10pm
SRM02-05 - Through a Rose Colored Display Link Sunday 1pm
SRM02-06 - The Flip Side Sunday 6pm
SRM02-07 - An Ounce of Prevention Monday 9am
SRM02-08 - Chasing the Dragon Monday 1pm

If you plan to be at the con, and want to play in any of these, I encourage you to grab tickets on site early. I've no idea how quickly they'll sell out, but they went onto the schedule when pre-registration was almost over.

Running Shadowrun:

Presently those interested in Missions in MA

Here are the two places I'd be willing to run Shadowrun. Either has good parking but the Waltham location has the best parking.

Danger Planet Games (Waltham)
Pandemonium Books and Games (Central Square, Cambridge)

Message me with you're suggestions. Don't forget though that all games would be 4th. Edition. I like third but most of the present missions are in 4th.

Location Move
This will be at Valhalla's or Borders. Valhalla's is still open so I'm not sure where it will go down. Runners need to be flexible!

Register Today!!
Now that I am doing officially recognized events I would like all of you to register with CommandoHQ. This is fairly easy. Just go to www.CommandoHQ.com and click on Enlist!

Shadowrunner's Tip of the Week:
Now that we are on a new system I can start this up again. I hope that somebody reads this stuff.

Composure Tests (Fright Check, Cool Test, etc)
The Runners are looking for a Ghoul informant in an abandoned garbage dump. They come across a body that has been laid out and freshly eaten. The body is spread eagle, missing it's guts and slowly being consumed by maggots. The Troll Street Sam is the first in the group to lose his lunch. That's at that time a huge group of ghouls crawl out the garbage and ambushes the party.
There are many common occurrences in a shadowrunner’s life—vicious violence, death, metahuman misery, scary monsters and magic—that would make average citizens crumple into whimpering, traumatized rag-dolls. Whenever a character encounters a situation that she has not been hardened to, the gamemaster can call for a composure test to see whether she faces the situation with cool resolve, temporarily freezes with shock, or trembles and pisses herself.
Composure is a Willpower + Charisma Test, with a threshold based on the severity of the situation (keeping in mind how often the character has faced similar things in the past). Certain situations are bound to become routine to shadowrunners (getting shot at, attacked by a angry spirit, or seeing the remains of a ghoul’s meal); in these cases, gamemasters should no longer ask for composure tests.

Let me know:
Since this is the start of 4th Edition I don't know if any new people will sign up. I will have 6 slots open. My regulars get first chance to play. If there is heavy demand, I will run this again. Please let me know who is playing.

Thanks
Derek

What are the chances and how would I go about playing Missions online? I don't live anywhere near any other players, and the only Con nearby was Dragoncon, where I had my plans set long before the SR people got around to scheduling missions

If you live near DragonCon, you could try to get in touch with a few of the posters here who attended, it's possible some of them might be interested in a game in the area.

As far as on-line play goes -- If somebody wants to run an on-line game, I'm completely cool with it. However, it's not something that I enjoy doing, so I won't be running any personally.

Several events to post, folks.

As mentioned previously, I'll be at ConClave, near Detroit tomorrow running Parliament and Tunnel Vision.

On Saturday 10/14 at Noon, I'll be at

Warzone Matrix
4704 Rocky River Dr
Cleveland, OH 44135
(216) 433-1316

I'll be running SRM02-09 Tunnel Vision.

On Saturday 11/17, I'll be running several events at
U-Con 2006
at the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor, MI.

Registration for the convention is now open at the above URL. I'll be running SRM02-01 (Parliament of Thieves), SRM02-09 (Tunnel Vision) and SRM02-10 (Twist and Insult) at the con. In addition, there will be another two GMs who should be running several other events. Some events will also take place on Sunday. If you're within a few hours of Ann Arbor, it should be a good con for Shadowrun! :cyber:

The shadows can be a dirty place to make a living, but a runner's got to make end's meet somehow. When opportunity calls, you answer. Here's a few upcoming events that I'll be running in Northern Ohio:

Saturday 1/27, I'll be running a make-up session at

Warzone Matrix
4704 Rocky River Dr
Cleveland, OH 44135
(216) 433-1316

This one will either be SRM02-03 The Grab OR SRM02-10 Twist and Insult. It depends upon who shows up and what scenarios they need.

On Saturday 2/10, I'll again be at Warzone Matrix. This time I'll be running SRM02-13 Take Out Service. here's the blurb:
"There is always a price to be paid when organizations grow and expand and no one wants to be left holding the check. Blackmail and kidnapping, of course, are acceptable ways to convince someone else to pay the tab… "

On Saturday 2/24, I'll be at BASHCon at the University of Toledo. Their pre-reg system is behaving a little strangely at the moment. seems to be working properly. It has listings for:

10AM - SRM02-11 Rising Sin
2PM - SRM02-12 Winter Wonderland

Here's a few of my upcoming events:

Saturday 4/14 I'll be at the CARP Shadowrun Game Day in Lansing, MI. If you plan on attending this one, you'll need to hit their web site to sign up in advance.
11:00AM SRM02-05: Through a Rose Colored Display Link
When a ranking hacker of the Mob becomes prime suspect in a crime he didn't commit (this time), putting heat on the business, you are called in to deliver some family justice against those who framed him.
5:00PM SRM02-06: The Flip Side
When the choice comes down to your reputation or your life, most runners choose to keep breathing. Now a team is needed to find out why a smuggler cut his losses and ran at the first sign of heat.

Saturday 4/21 at Noon, I'll be running
SRM02-15 Critical Care
DocWagon patients are going missing. No way it could be your fault, right? Maybe you should check into it, just in case.
That'll be at:
Warzone Matrix
4704 Rocky River Dr
Cleveland, OH 44135
(216) 433-1316

For completion's sake, I thought I'd echo a few more Commando postings here as well:

It's a little early, but since it was also posted in the Convention Forum, I thought I should mention it.

Oasis 20 in Orlando Florida on Memorial Day weekend will be hosting:

SRM02-13 Take-Out Service
Author: Stephen McQuillan
There is always a price to be paid when organizations grow and expand and no one wants to be left holding the check. Blackmail and kidnapping, of course, are acceptable ways to convince someone else to pay the tab…

SRM02-14 Wetwork, pure and simple
Author: Mark Edwards
When you run in the shadows, a day where you aren't working is a day were you aren't getting paid. Sometimes survival means taking whatever run comes your way. When the choice is between wetwork and not eating, it isn't much of a choice.

SRM02-15 Critical Care
Author: Bruce Ford
DocWagon patients are going missing. No way it could be your fault, right? Maybe you should check into it, just in case.

SRM02-16 Primal Forces
Author: Eric Boivin
When precious resources are in transit in Denver, it’s difficult for the various factions to stay idle. When nearly every faction has a reason to try to get them, many decisions are left to the runners about their allegiances.

Event Announcement, 3/25

Noon: SRM 02-01: Parliment of Thieves

When you're working the Denver shadows, its not just a matter of keeping the names and faces straight. You need to remember the faction each person is working for.

Please if you are able to come down note it will be one week earlier on the 5th next month not the 12th that I orginaly posted.

Again so sorry.

Not that I think there are any Shadowrun players in Bloomington, IN who frequent Dumpshock

At The Game Preserve, 101 W. Kirkwood Ave., I will be running a Demo based on Foodfight! on Saturday, 9/1/07, at noon then creating characters for ongoing Mission Events starting 9/9/07, also at noon. I will be running the demo again at the same place and time the following Saturday, 9/8/07.

At Avalon, 223 N. Pete Ellis Dr., I will be running a Demo based on Foodfight! on Saturday, 9/1/07, starting at 5:30pm then creating characters for ongoing Mission Events starting 9/8/07, also at 5:30pm.

The plan is to run demos to interest players to attend the mission events. So if the group needs more players, I will run more demos to interest players.

Welcome back IU students. :)

Not that I think there are any Shadowrun players in Bloomington, IN who frequent Dumpshock

Well then start pimping Dumpshock to your players :}

Hi, I tried e-mailing missions (at) shadowrun4.com and missions (at) shadowrunrpg.com. Both bounced back. I tried clicking on Dunner in the forums, but it gave me a blank browser page (using Firefox). If someone can help by posting the correct e-mail, that would be great (and perhaps update the sticky).

...And let them see what a jackass I am? :)

Actually, I have mentioned the site to several people and have my DS handle at forums.dumpshock.com on my FLGS bulletin board notice for playing a game. I even say it is an active SR forum.

My italicized comment is relative to the number of responses I have gotten over the years to my posts in the player/GM registry looking for a local game. Which is currently null, nada, zero, ziltch, good luck.

No worries. Could a moderator change the Sticky and also the address on the http://shadowrun4.com/missions/ page?

Also, just because of the way other living games work, it might be worth mentioning if there is any issue with the number of people in a table and more explicitly mentioning how the log sheet works - I think this is something the Missions controller sends once the event is registered, right? And new players just need a character sheet and dice and the books and then they will fill out the log sheet they get after their first module?

Thanks!

Teos, newb for now.

The only thing for the gamemaster to fill out after the event is the form on the website, answering questions about the adventure outcome. These feedback forms are open for 6 months after an adventure is released. If a GM runs the event when it's older than that, then there's no need for reporting.

Correct. This is the "Debriefing Log" from the adventure handouts section. Players should also probably have a copy of the Calendar for tracking how many 'runs they've played.
