I've only seen it on Xbox so far, but has anyone checked this out? I'd love to hear some reviews.

I believe this will be an X-Box exclusive. I haven't seen it listed as a release for any other platform.

I played a bit of it last weekend at a buddies house, and will be playing some more this weekend. I enjoyed it quite a bit myself.

However, for those looking for Neverwinter Nights on the console, this is not it. It's much more in the vein of Gauntlet with a skill system thrown in (And NOT the D&D skill system, mind you).

There are four classes: Fighter, Thief, Wizard, and Cleric. You can't choose race or sex, these are preset by class, though you can name your hero. Each class has a large list of skills, powers, and "moves", and every time you level, you get points that you can use to buy levels to each of these abilities. Each abilty has between 1 and 5 levels.

For example, I was playing the Wizard ina four player game, and got a few levels under my belt. I purchased several levels of Magic Missile, and each level netted me an additional missile. Fireball gives you a bigger and more powerful fireball.

Many of the trappings of D&D are there... We fought a Bullette, Goblins, Undead, and I watched the boys play their higher level characters and fight Drow and Mind Flayers. However, the overall play is very reminiscent of Gauntlet. Instead of spell slots, spells and special abilties use Willpower (I think is what it's called, I know there are Will Potions to replenish it).

Overall, very Gauntletish, with a D&D theme and setting. A good deal of fun, but definately a game that's better on multiplayer.

Definately do. I know some people probably wouldn't like it too much, but those people are likely looking for a more faithful Tabletop RPG style experience, or heck, even a CRPG experience, which this doesn't quite provide. It's closer to a cross between Diablo and Gauntlet.

That description makes it sound very much like Baulder's Gate Dark alliances for the PS2.
