It's a very "SR" idea.
However, I am sure the UCAS Secret Service has teams of mages who do nothing but look out for ritual attacks like this. Who knows, they might be able to fire a manaball down the ritual link... a big one. |

Instead of a Recall Election, the people perform a cooperative ritual to curse the politician. :)
Not a shady assassin-mage, but a rally of shamans and thier tribesmen (followers) protesting some law or politician with a ritual. |
