Orelinde' Calaelen
Orelinde' is the last of the descendants of the head of House Calaelen besides her brother Valandil. Their family has been blessed through out the centuries with many sons and daughters, a rare gift. Her hair is a beautiful red ,a relic form Alachia's blessing/curse, which has not yet struck her down due to her having two sons and no daughters.
Orelinde' would have been right at home in the elven court. Fate dealt her a mocking hand however, and she was instead born within the kaer. She did the best with what she could, married high in her station, and did everything in her power to have everyone within the kaer's council wanting her ear or advice.
Somehow, she'd always been quite skilled at that sort of thing. Like her brother, she followed the strict path, and had walked the way of the warrior and the wizard. She is currently following the discipline of the Troubadour, and seems to have truely come in to her own. Just in time it seems, as she now spends quite a lot of time away from the burgeoning village traveling to cities such as Travar to see what oppurtunities the world holds for her.
Unlike many influence peddlers, Orelinde' is not an avarice woman, nor particularily vain. It is simply what she enjoys. She is very loyal to her family, and elven ideals. She married her husband for love and not station. She is very fond of her nieces, and often gives them advice. Her most frequent being "You can fall in love with a rich man just as easily as a poor one."
Her husband is Malgor Celebrinal, her two sons Elrohir and Amrod.
Amrod
The older of the two brothers by four years, Amrod is his father's son, and cherished by his mother. He is lean, strong, and handsome. There is little in life that he cannot do or earn. The elf is very prideful, but not vain. He believes in working for what he wants. he has a very strong will, and usually gets his way.
He follows the path of the Warrior with a vengence. It's one of the few ways that he can unequivocly prove that he is better than another. He practices relentlessly, prefering opponents that are a challenge, or even better than him. He takes loses as a lesson, setting him self to succeed next time.
Quipp
A rather intelligent human boy, liekly no more than 14 years if his size is any judge. he has sandy blond hair, and a thin frame. Sparkling green eyes seem to promise trust, but eyes can decieve. Quipp wears light clothes that look as if they've been worn for a few days straight. It's unclear where Quipp comes from or where his family is, as he rarely sems to have any prior engagements. But he knows the city of Travar better than the back of his hand.
"Why would I knw what the back of my hand looks like? Think I sit around staring at it all day? Person can get mugged that way ya know."
Bodar
Bodar is a dwarf Weaponsmith of the 9th circle. His "reckless" days are long behind him. He no longer travels the region in hopes of knowledge or adventure. He has seen quite enough in his life as it is, and is content to spend the rest of his years working the forge. He takes tender loving care of all the weapons that pass through his shop and keeps meticulous records on each one. He is renowned for his knowledge of weaponry, it's form and function. many adepts come to Bodar's for keys of knowledge to unlock the secrets to their arms.
Bodar himself has little use left for adventure. Occassionally some task will come along that suits his mind set, but he believes that "aimless wanderings and fool hardy living" is meant for younger folk. Most of his days are spent puttting loving care into one piece or another, or training weaponsmiths. His prize piece is his still-in-progress Heart Blade, which he hopes to complete within the next ten years or so.
The Dozing Docket
A medium sized Inn within Travar, well out of the way of most travelers, the inn is a favorite of many locals. It often features story telling by air sailors that come through meeting the proprieter Amedus, a retired air sailor born and raised in Travar. His fellows frequent the establishment. It's a good place to good a solid meal and cool drink, along with news from a far.
Aristol Senchal
Aristol is a human wizard of the 9th circle. He is in his early forties. Physically he is thin, but fit enough. he wears his brown hair a little on the thick side, but well combed, stopping jsut at the nape of his neck. He wears gold rimmed spectacles and favors very full red robes with elaborate trim. he has quite an extensive colllection.
He is a wizard, through and through . His home/office is full of books, grams, charts, and chalk boards. It is a very busy place one must navigate them selves through carefully. he is at his happiest when on a project.
Aristol's specialty is ancient languages. He is a secialist in the field, renowned through out Barsaive. He is also quite skilled with pattern items and discovering their True Knowledge.
Manden
Aristol's secretary, Manden is a stuffy old man full of his master's own self importance. Much more so in fact. He is very prudish, and insistant on knowing what ever is transpiring within his master's place of business, so taht the master need not trouble him self. He is easily offendable, and has thrown out many an unruely ork. The fact that Manden is acutally also a 6th circle wizard gives him some strength to back his manner. He is also a grandfather of many and quite fond of stuffing pastrys in to customers who seem in the pleast bit pleasant. Especially young ladies. ;) Perhaps you'd like to sit on Uncle Manden's lap and let him know why you have come? :D
Kraech YellowTusk
Kraech is calvary man, and ork skorcher. He is getting along in his years, but has managed to get his own small following of skorchers. his reputation says that he is a very fierce and violent fighter. Those who know him a bit better also speak of a suprisingly sharp mind. He has been following the trail of a 'great treasure' for the last 5 years. Quite an investment of time for any ork.
His original clan is the Rune Eye Skorchers, but he has formed his own off shoot group called the YellowTusks.
Krojak the Thunderer
A troll Outcast and Skyraider, Krojak is a very angry troll. He is also very sensitive of his honor, and will defend it violently. He is currently based south of Krats, where he is amassing a mercenary force to go to war to avenge a slight against him.
Ailanda
A human warrior, she is a "War Lord" of Kratas, and sworn to Garlthik One-Eye, self appointed ruler of Kratas. Ailanda has a reputation as a fierce but honorable woman. No one is sure how she fell in with an ork like Garlthik, but she rules her land as fairly as one can in an area like Kratas. Do not make the mistake of assuming that she is benevolent simply because she rules fairly and honorably though. There are those that say that she simply creates the rules so that others will follow them, and be more manageable.
Athernon
First mate on the Cloud Leaper, Athernon is an elf. He 's a seasoned Air Sailor of the 4th circle. He's gruff, but can be professional enough for handling "business." He acts like the calssic sailor the rest of the time : Drinks hard, fights hard, and likes his woman.
Captain Jonthen
Captian of the Cloud Leaper, he tends to go back and forth between a professional captain, and a cad and tease of the ladies. He enjoys a good joke, a good lass, and even better, good coin. He's also rather fond of a good fight. All in all, he's a very adventurous human. He's also a pirate and completely unapologetic for who and what he is and does. It's his ship, so his word is law.If you're not on his ship, you simply don't matter, because you're either not in the air, or you're potential pay. He is very loyal to his crew, and they to him. They've been through quite a lot together.
Lólindir Helyanwë
A 5th circle sword master, Lólindiris a very elegant elf, with bouts of swashbuckler behavior. He enjoys noble spech and the company of elves, and especially pretty ladies. His tastes are refined, preferring elvish anything to the finest of most other races. He is very traditional in following elven rituals and traditions.
Being a swordmaster, he also enjoys a good fight, and quests for honor. He always wears at his side his blade Finisher. It is an ancient sword of his families that he cherishes above all of his possessions. He is 35 years old, still very much in his prime. His house, Helyanwë, waited out the Scourge in Throal. Because of this his knowledge of politics and court are great. his family was also one of the few capable of making traditional elven crafts, such as elf weave cloaks, and so became very well to do over the centuries.
Ordat of the Stone Claw Clan
Ordat is a great troll warrior far from home. He is a warrior of the 7th circle. He is suprisingly calm most of the time, although he will bristle at any insult to his honor. Part of his calm comes from the troll's more than usual tendency to "turn within", a part of troll culture to lean towards introspection. He trained with an obsidiman master for the last two circles of his training, and took the pledge coin. Since then he has behaved with a demeanor more common to one of the "Rock Brothers" than a troll.
Vincent
An Air Sailor of the 2nd Circle, Vincent is one of the crewmen aboard the air ship Cloud Leaper. He's a strong young man in his early twenties, wit a strong sense of honor, but a stronger sense of adventure. He wants to go anywhere the wind will take him. He's skilled and intelligent, and may one day bea great air sailor. For now though, he is enjoying being a (good looking ) young man and traveling ,seeing the world.
Landen
Landen is not an adept and is aware of the fact every moment. Most sailors are not adepts, but Landen sees it as his short coming. In fact he is one of the better sailors and warriors above Cloud Leaper. His lack of magic has created a very strong hearted man, who is often willing to do what ever it takes to prove him self, and protects his crew mates and ship.
Vanten Not related to Landen, but the two of them are from the same small village, although they have little to do with each other. That isn't to say that they don't get along, they simply have little in common. Where Landen is true at heart, but otherwise doubting himself, Vanten is storn and sure of him self. He is no adept, but he's confident in his abilities and believes in hard work paying off, being it's own reward.
The Griffon
An Inn within the walls of Krats, the Griffon is a more expensive Inn for those who can afford to pay. Well compensate ork warriors keep the "peace" and the rabble out of the place. They have good food, more or less honest employees, and pay their protection money on time. They also have room and furniture to accomadate any name giver race.
Kyros(keer-os)
Omaru is a legendary obsidiman warrior. The troubadours say that he was alive before the Scourge, and battled the rising hordes of horrors as they began to sweep across the land. The legends place him at over 700 years old. He is known to carry a great sword a full seven feet long, and broad, that he is said to wield with one hand. The sword is named Ender. It has a powerful legend in it's own right.
Supposedly he found it in the lair of a dragon. The dragon, according to the legend, fancied it's self an elementalist. It decided that it wanted to study an obsidiman Liferock, and went about attempting to extract the True Earth from it. The Life Rock was not Kyros's, but he came to it's defense none the less. According to the legend, he wielded a sword of pure crystal, although it's name has been forgotten to time.
While battling the dragon at the Liferock,Kyros' sword pierced the dragon's hide in a vicious stab, and was snapped in half by it's thrashing. The dragon fled, but Kyros tracked it to it's lair but the great trail of blood it had left. Any Warrior will tell you that the Warrior is the weapon, and a blade simply adds reach. So it was with Kyros. He slew the injured dragon in it's lair with his bare hands, and took the sword Ender as his only prize, leaving the rest of the horde.
