There is a Commando running the Missions that keeps asking the players to sign up. He is new and has not really given an answer that provides any real benefit other than the possibility of being a playtester.
Are there benefits to signing on as a Player? What all does it entail? |

To sign up as a player on the Commando site or to sign up as a Commando? There are benefits to either.
For signing up as a player, you'll receive notification of any upcoming Commando events. You can seelct any Commandos that you choose. When they schedule an event, you'll get a heads up e-mail about it. For signing up as a Commando, well, the system is in a little bit of transition right now, with the CGL changeover. However, Commandos are basically an organized system to promote Catalyst Games Lab products. If you're interested in Shadowrun and want to spread the game, then the program is a way to help you do that. If you're happier just playing the games, then there's no real reason to join. |

I can't say I am the Commando your talking about but I do tell all players that if they go to the Commando headquarters and sign up then when ever any Commando is running a game near them they will get an e-mail with the information of where, when, and what type of game.
I do this for one reason only I would hate for someone to miss the chance to play in a game they like. In no way is this something you need to do it's just something to keep you informed. Another thing I do is I ask for everyone at the table to fill out a sheet I made that has room for your name and e-mail. I DON'T use your e-mail for anything other than my reports on the Commando site so as a player you get points. At this time it is my understanding that the points you get don't do anything nor do they get you anything it's just for fun. As for tring to get poeple to become Commandos well what can I say I love this game and so I am always tring to get others to join so we can work together to expand the player base. Also at this time and point I think i'm the only Commando who will be showing up to run games at Megacon so if I can recruit some help that would rock :}. |
