Topic says it all. Tried 2 different clients and both had connections refused, is there a story on it?

As I understand it, the IRC channel has not been active in some time and there are no plans (that I am aware of) to revive it.

<shameless plug>
By the by, I'm a netadmin on irc.otherworlders.org - web page at http://www.otherworlders.org - and if there's demand for an official DumpShock IRC channel, we'd love to host it! We already host ENWorld's official IRC channel: #dnd3e There is an existing Shadowrun following already on the network, with two separate weekly games going on in #shadowrun and #sr4e (#sr4e being my own game). I have pre-registered #dumpshock in case there's any interest. I'm quite happy to give ops to existing dumpshock forums mods and/or we can work out a different chanop structure? </shameless plug> |

Update on this:
#dumpshock on irc.otherworlders.org is up, running and open for business, with a few regular chatters on standby. If the Dumpshock admins would like to endorse it as a semiofficial IRC for dumpshock, then I have put together a really quick and dirty HTML page with a web client (based on the excellent new Mibbit.com AJAX IRC client) pointing to it. I'm hosting this at http://www.toreadorvampire.co.uk/dumpshock at the moment. DS admins are free to grab that page (it's really minimalistic and self-contained, with no server-side logic involved) and customise it/host it on dumpshock.com as an official "chat on dumpshock" page. Seeing as I'm a web dev by trade, I can also do any work on it if you'd like (just give me a shout). Also - I am still keen to turn over chanop status to any dumpshock admins that might be interested in helping run the channel. I'd like to make sure that the channel is closely linked with the web-based community (rather then being a forgotten bolt-on), and I think that having the presence of some DS admins (even as regular chatters) will help that a lot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

If you're looking for some Shadowrun on IRC, you should pay the #S-Run Community on undernet a visit. We've been around for going on 12 years now, and have multiple games running every night of the week. The website is finally up again, and though skeletal -- will be filled in pretty rapidly over the coming weeks.
Peace. |
