HI,
I noticed that there is already a podcast coming up, but in the interim I was thinking on putting together a music podcast with bands that would fit the 6th World. So what kinds of music do people listen to that fits Shadowrun? The podcast will run for 45-60 minutes (13-18 tracks) and the theme will be Metropolis. -Chrysalis |

There is lots. I use EBM, Trance, Techno, and Hard House. There are lots more as well. If you wanted to include Ambient or scoring music is good as well.
Those are just a few. Also for Halloweeners I play Insane Clown Posse Just because it is silly. |

This sounds cool, but there are a lot of tricky legal issues with putting music on a podcast. The RIAA has a real hard-on for this stuff...

check out www.magnatune.com - they are a podcast friendly record label that will, if you have a podcast, give you a "fake" credit card # that allows you to download their albums for free. they are independant artists: their electronic music is amazing.
also look for Creative Commons podsafe music on Google. |

Or go to remix.nin.com
Techno, industrial, free. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cyber.gif) Since the links to specific songs are wonky, some of my personal favorites are: Heresy (instrumental) Reptile (instrumental) The Perfect Drug (Plug) All The Pigs, All Lined Up The Great Collapse The Greater Good (instrumental) & My Violent Heart (This is a Bomb) by Portable Jesus |

So many of my runners have run bodyguard jobs and I used live music to help simulate the run. One of them decided to compile it, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. While mot podcasting, some of these songs either have a very good Shadowrun feel in the lyrics, or are just great songs to fight to.
