Well we're now up and running.
First now I'm still missing 3 finished character though I know that one is in the latter stages. So if I don't get these by the end of Wednesday GMT then I'll open the remaining slots to the public. The first final builds i get are in the game. People on the list in their current order then any others. I hope to have an IC up before then but I'm still thinking on the best opening post on my part. BTW last minute thing life styles will be based in Dubai for now and that will be our Merc's starting base (theire will be other possible locations and expanding in to more than one could bean option). Transport to the first job will be covered by the client and there will be a nice big up front payment as well. So may the war begin. |

So has anybody given any thought to squad structure and tactics?
Is there any particular stuff we should be reading to prep for this game? Is the old Fields of Fire supplement worth skimming? |

Its worth skimming that and SOTA '63 (im sure thats the one) for some fluff on mrecs in the 6th world. As to structure IC would be fun same for tactics plus me having a PC with a high logic and some useful skills lets me help out if needed and have a ball with you all. But really you'll need some one on AV as well as zone defense. Maybe rapid response and long range support. The rest can be thought up later. I'm getting under way for my IC post now just naming stuff that I haven't quite though about (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) mainly small places and unimportant NPCs like news reporters. |

The IC is up I recommend you post a day in the life of for the 30th and early 31th then when everything done we can get on to the mission. The warehouse is a shared lifestyle that atm is assumed prepaid for 4 months this warehouse acts as equipment storage and a meting place for the team as well as the HQ of the team. I'll post the full stats for it later on tomorrow but its large and and secure with a small office and space to expand into as well as work space a target range and other such amenity's. Split between 11 is only less than 20% of the cost each tish also taken into acount room for all of you to crash if needed. This place can be upgraded as well buy renting out the other close units and such.

Given the weapons that we're lugging around, I'm guessing our other range is someplace well outside town, and a long way from anything else.

Have you seen this?
That would be a great place to have a penthouse/research lab. I'd like to keep my own lifestyle separate from the units. He'd contribute to both but he's just product leased to this Mercenary group and would prefer to maintain his own base of operations. |

Nope not seen that.
As to not keeping your own base I can see a lot of the group doing that but the shared base will have benefits even more so if/when the group expands. The main one is supplying the group. The unit can odder things to the building and it will be legal ect. Plus its only going to get cheaper if the unit expands. It also acts as a good way for me to refelct the upkeep cost of a the unit. As I don't think may people would like to RP taxes and such. |

Finally settled on a name, and uploaded him to the Wiki. Looking through Wikipedia's article on John Doe equivalents for a good pseudonym, I came across Brazil's Zé Ninguém, which is pretty charming. I've always liked the name Zé, so I turned him into a Brasilian, but otherwise he's what I wrote up before. Plus I can throw in some random Portuguese, assuming I remember any.
I've got the first IC in my head pretty well done, but it's time for sleep now, so I'll type it up tomorrow. Alex |
