Is that right? I know a lot of that land is frozen waste or some such, but they only have 6m people?? Whats the poulation density on that look like?

Really, really small. The population of 6.4 million is quite likely to be correct. After all, those areas aren't likely to see a lot of pop growth, and the current population of Greenland is 56k, with a population density of 0.026 people per square kilometer, or 0.14 people per square kilometer of ice-free land.
