Been talked about on twitter/chat/sr4 site. "Real" info is sparse till books are in the warehouse. But from what we've been told it looks like Running Wild will fall after Dawn of the Artifacts (Dusk) and Vice. Dusk IRC is at printer and other two are in final stages.
Edit: I feel for ya. Running Wild has been on my most wanted list as well. |

Oh god, more questions are coming up: what the f***ck is "Dawn of the artifacts"? Can´t find it on the official HP as well.
@ Prime Mover: Yes, all the other upcoming books are just for the background, running wild should be the last core-book that really gives tangible informations. Even though critters are a really important factor in SR and except the core-book and the compendium (always forget the new name) we really didn´t get some infos about them up to now. |

Dawn of the Artifacts is a new "Metaplot"-Series as far as i know.
Probably heavy on magical goods left over from the last magics. |

Oh god...exactly what my black-mage-powergamer-soul needs. Where is this metaplot discussed? I own most of the recent published books, do i have to read them more careful or is it just upcoming?
Btw: thanks for the answer. How´s the weather around the "Big Willy"? ^^ |

Regarding Dawn of teh Artifacts, it was announced at Gen Con last year. And all that was said then was something along the lines of "If you think about the title, that probably tells you all you really need to know". I find this statement to be true (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Btw: thanks for the answer. How´s the weather around the "Big Willy"? ^^ Right now? Bright. Too bright for my sensible eyes. And windy. Really windy. I like it ^^ This metaplot won't be discussed anytime soon. Tiggy, erm, Tiger Eyes, gets to write it as far as i know. I don't have anything against her, but seeing as how Uncle Ancient is my favourite writer, he has been with SR for quite some time and especially been involved in most things Fluff/Background and i like his Style i am still hoping he will have a certain Influence on those Books. Also, there are going to be 3 Books. |

...isn´t even announced on the official SR site. Any suggestions/rumors when we can await it? The most disappointing aspect here is that Feral Cities and Running Wild would at least appear to work together. Right now I have a dead fiction half waiting for life. The following is humor and a song quote I feel related to Catalyst's approach to schedules, dates, and hyping up projects for years: QUOTE If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointments BlueMax /because they don't do release dates //get it? |

@ Stahlseele: down here near stuttgart we have some pretty clouds i have to say. I like rain, maybe this is the reason i like to play in seattle.^^ I thought i would be informed about SR, but if i see you and your collegues, I realize there is still a lot of input that needs to be collected.^^
So i have to find Excalibur by myself and shouldn´t wait for the books, eh? Hmpf....I agree with Blue Max...sometimes the time-shedule of our SR-planners differ from our dreams and wishes.^^ |

I can't wait to see Running Wild in print. It's going to put the SR2 & 3's "Critter" books to shame. Dare I say- it may even surpass PAoNA and PAoE!?

Do you really want to make me look in the FAQ´s to know what you are talking about? ^^I really hope it will be better than the last editions. Now that I have seen the 5th edition (SR4A) and the Matrix-book, I´m very spoiled. |

Oh god, more questions are coming up: what the f***ck is "Dawn of the artifacts"? Can´t find it on the official HP as well. Dawn of the Artifacts will be a series of interlinked, fully written adventures. (By fully written, I mean in the style of On the Run, not the track format of Ghost Cartels.) Although, unlike On the Run (which my group played through in one night), DotA are short and sweet but I don't believe any playtest groups made it through in less than 3-4 sessions (except the one group who played two 12 hour days, back to back, and didn't do any of the 'side' bits or 'pushing the envelope' bits). And, believe me, you don't need to know 20 years of SR history or any of the Earthdawn-SR crossover stuff to enjoy these! (But if you do, you might find some fun little gems in there..) |

Oh God... my body is reacting in two manners, first it wants to rage because of the implication that i totally will enjoy it as your sentence implied. I didn't mean to make you upset, I was simply pointing out that you don't *need* to know anything of SR's long history to play and enjoy the DotA adventures. In fact, several of our playtest groups are new to SR, having started only with SR4, and they had a rocking great time. On the other hand, some of our playtest groups have been playing since 1st edition, and they really enjoyed finding those little gems hidden inside the adventure. Or they are like my players who have been along since SR1 and still don't pick up on any continuity porn I try to inject. Hell, half the time they cant even remember the names of NPCs in the very same adventure! Rather frustrating as the GM.

For some reason my players have had a hard time with Ghost Cartels NPC's. Henry Uribe nearly died because one team member confused him with Uncle Hiro. Also Dae,Riveros,Sacristan have all been confused once or twice. And I hide the Olaya connection so well they just didn't understand how this Salazar guy was connected until they met him and I had to recap the whole mission. (granted were only playing bi weekly and missed a few sessions so I'm really trying to get better at keeping notes for the recap.

I just don´t remember the names of all the books and what i call "matrix book" is just "unwired". I play magicians since the beginning, but i was really impressed about the great pictures in it. I want all further SR-publications to be that cool. (that is at least one reason to buy the new SR4A edition: better overview and great graphics.) |

QUOTE I hope there won't be any Earthdawn stuff in it, and that it'll not be too hard to cut out any Immortal Elves stuff. Seconded. If there is, I won't buy it. A prompt review and/or a torrent preview will be needed before I consider dropping a dime on this one. OTOH, Vice and Running Wild are sure buys for me. |

Frosty is the Immortal Elven Daughter of Ehran the Scribe, another Immortal Elf.
Shagging it up with Harlekin. Another Immortal Elf. Who was once shagging Aina Sluage. Yet another Immortal Elf. Yes, there's an Immortal Elf Sitcom/Beverly Hills in there somewhere. |

will there be a new IE throwing adept who power throws drop bears over people? (so that the drop bears can then drop on them, of course...) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Please follow the signs to the Drop Bear-thread. Read the thread. Twice. Come back and find the fault in your idea. |

Don't you mean Desperate Immortal Elves? And that is a lot of shagging going on. |

When my group ran Harlequin the GM (which did not understand English that well, to say the least) botched most adventures thoroughly. But it did create a few gems of scenes by accident. I still fondly remember when our trollsammie knocked Ehran out in melee and we tossed the elf's trussed up butt at Harlequin's feet.

Don't you mean Desperate Immortal Elves? And that is a lot of shagging going on. Moar like "Elves and the City", amirite? On a serious note: Yep, that whole earthdawn thing could convince me to drop that adventure line fully. I can't stand the squeeing of ED Fanboys. |

Most of my current players have been around since 1st edition and enjoyed original -H- adventure and many many years of thwarting IE plots. When the game changed gears and went more street level we had a hard time making the adjustment. From international world spanning plots and centuries old conspiracy's. To getting paid a few grand to do some muscle work for a local gangster. I guess the Shadowrun I grew up with was played out on a grander scale. I'm all for starting out new characters on the street. But I for one enjoy the fact there is a great conspiracy behind everything that the players can eventually become part of. I like peanut butter with chocolate and I like my SR with all its elements.
If I wanted a pure cyberpunk game I'd unbox my cp2020 stuff it does it better. If I want a pure fantasy game I'd dig out my D20's they do it better. If I want a game that can be both of those things and alot more with 20 years of history behind it, that I'm not going to stick my head in the sand over regardless of how much I personally dislike it (cough--surge--cough) I'll keep playing SR. And just to keep on topic I'm still chomping at the bit for Running Wild. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

And just to keep on topic I'm still chomping at the bit for Running Wild. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) My players had a similar issues - although most were SR newbs they are used to world spanning games and plots where they are the international asskickers of doom (especially in that game which shall not be named). When I started I tried to make sure my PCs knew that from their skillset they already a notch above the average gutterpunk but it would take time to earn the respect on the streets and build themselves up. They realised that it takes time but they've got a sense of purpose, as well as some influence through their arms dealing business. The fact they have a few good deals which give them an edge over most people involved in that racket and that they've got some really good affiliations with the First Nations gang and Vory V Zakone, means that they feel special, even if they're not all powerful. I think in a street level campaign its more important to have a) a sense of purpose b) something special to differentiate yourself from those around you and c) some sense that you can actually have an impact on your little portion of the world. - J. |

Have to agree the players need to feel they have the destiny to make a difference for good or bad. |
